Technical Product Owner
Location: WarszawaJob Purpose:
We are building a digital commerce platform and our Technical Product Owners (PO) are the drivers in providing new capabilities through quality driven agile development processes. Working closely with the Product Management team, the Product Owner will understand the Business drivers and in doing so, ensure the key products are built with the right strategic functionality. The role needs technical understanding as the product backlog will primarily represent the work to enable the development teams.
Responsibilities:
- Drive the delivery success of the product roadmap as the product leader for the scrum team
- Partner with Product Manager (PM) to understand the product vision, input into product strategy and support roadmap definition
- Create a product blueprint for the platform(s) you own
- Break epics, features and requirements into User stories
- Manage a 3-Month User Story roadmap
- Collaborate with scrum team to define how needs will be met
- Own scrum product backlog, (aligned with Product Roadmap epics/features) - ensure this is visible, transparent, and clear to all
- Triage Production defects
- Demo new capabilities to stakeholders
- Engage with stakeholders to ensure regular refinement and prioritisation of scrum backlog (user stories,, bugs, Tech debt)
- Demonstrate a flare for innovation and creativity, focusing on outcomes
- Responsible for all PO tasks and activities to ensure a successful Release by the scrum team
- Own pilot releases of functionality; engage with customers; partner with PM to agree sign-off of pilot and confirm release-next stage e.g. Beta/GA
- Be the contact point for product information, queries and communications relevant to the scrum delivery scope and progress
Knowledge Skills and Experience
- Product Owner (PO) experience of a digital product or platform.
- Familiarity with Agile working practices and an understanding of technical development processes are a must
- Someone who’s very comfortable with technical conversations - initiating and understanding them. Knowledge of RESTful APIs & microservices would be a huge bonus
- Highly organised with strong communication skills and an ability to drive credibility and influence both internally and externally
- Pro-active problem-solver, with plenty of examples of how to anticipate and overcome blockers.
- Proven track record of managing a complex backlog and working with a variety of stakeholders
- Proficient in working within an Agile Product based organisation
- Ability to iterate, execute and pivot at pace
- Demonstrate self-starting, hardworking and inquisitive approach
- Possess a collaborative approach and a 'go-getting' attitude with the ability to network and build rapport easily.
- Contribute to the evolution of best practices of the department
- Experience in agile practices using Scrum, Kanban, SAFe or LeSS.
- Willing to travel
- Ability to work in an international environment
- Language skills: very good English, one additional European language preferred
