Team Lead 1st Line Financial Crime Asset Management & International Units

We support one of the biggest international banking brands in establishing a new footprint for the 1st Line Financial Crime Risk & Control organization in Warsaw. Are you an experienced and inspiring leader as well as a supportive manager of people with a track record of working in the Financial Crime domain?
1st Line group covers risk, control, governance, and transformation functions. This function is, amongst other things, responsible for setting risk appetite, defining control standards, issuing guidance to front-line teams, ensuring responsible governance and oversight, and helping set and drive the technology programs within the bank.
We are looking for candidates who:
- Have good people management skills;
- Have foundational knowledge in one or many financial crime disciplines;
- Have a natural ability to work with other leaders and with a group;
- Are interested in building something from the ground up;
- Have experience in banking or other companies and institutions;
- Have a relevant bachelors or masters degree with around 10 years of experience
- Are fluent in English.
Your key tasks:
- Leadership & Management: The Team Lead will manage day-to-day operations from an HR perspective supporting the heads of Asset Management & International Units that hold the functional responsibility. Experience of working side-by-side with colleagues as well as motivating and managing is therefore needed. Management experience is also needed to support building up the team and empowering a working environment in which team members can fulfill their maximum potential.
- Financial Crime Knowledge: Broad knowledge of Financial Crime risk identification, management, and mitigation in the areas of Fund Management and Fund Distribution, both on the asset side (investment) and on the liability side (customers). Knowledge of Corporate & Institutional Banking, in general, is required as also is knowledge of products and processes in Asset Management or from a Fund Management Company is favorable.
- Stakeholder Management: Stakeholder management is key in this role. Given the number of multiple legal entities and jurisdictions within the team's remit, the holder will be interacting with a wide range of business and risk stakeholders across the Group and the three Lines of Defence.
- Governance & Project Management: Given the number of different regulatory jurisdictions, experience in coordination of Financial Crime related governance activities is key. Being self-driven and enjoying working in a structured manner exercising judgment to balance competing demands and potential solutions to challenges. Having a strong analytical skillset being comfortable bringing structure to large complex tasks and projects.
