About the role
Ever wondered what it would be like to develop market leading features for the UK’s number 1 ‘investment supermarket’ for private investors? Hargreaves Lansdown, a FTSE 100 company, look after over £70,0 billion for 876,000 active clients from their landmark head office in Bristol. From starting out in a back bedroom in Bristol 35 years ago the company now employs more than 1,000 people in the UK. A huge part of their success has been down to their investment in IT. Would you like to be part of the next stage of growth in this success story?
HL Tech is a new Hargreaves Lansdown’s technology center that will allow us to bring innovative new products to the market, and to support its rapid growth we are looking to expand its technology capabilities. The entire HL Tech team will be based in prime real estate in central Warsaw. You will be working as part of an Agile/Scrum squad dedicated to greenfield projects that will create innovation, a major step forward in next generation client service on the £700 billion savings market in the UK.
We are looking for highly skilled & motivated IT Analysts who enjoy seeing their work making a measurable impact to a business and disrupting the status quo. Our development squads will consist of Java Developers, Test Engineers and IT Analysts and will be responsible for the end-to-end delivery of the entire product.

IT Analyst (HL Tech)
Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Engaging and influencing Senior Management and Directors to define and document the high level and detailed requirements for a project
- Work with all parties, Development, Testers, UAT and Infrastructure, on the requirements and support throughout the whole development lifecycle, contributing in every phase of the software development
- Supervise development squad
- Working with the change leadership team to engage with the wider business to increase agile adoption
- Challenge and control changes to requirements and liaise with stakeholders to assess impact to scope and project timescales / deliverables
- Document and present user interfaces when appropriate
- Training staff to use new systems when required
- Leading and mentoring Business Analysts on industry best practice, tools and techniques, including agile practices
- Ensuring that financial regulations are adhered to at all stages of a project
- Meeting regulatory compliance standards
Essential Requirements
- Experience of working in agile project environment (Scrum, Kanban etc.)
- Minimum 4 years’ experience as a Business or System Analyst
- Understanding of software projects lifecycle
- Communication skills are essential – verbal and written
- Ability to manage the workload in an efficient and timely manner
- The ability to document and critically evaluate process maps
- Business oriented attitude
- Highly organized and methodical with the ability to plan and pre-empt future outcomes
- Attention to detail and proven problem solving skills
- Able to influence key stakeholders
- Proactive, resourceful and able to use initiative
- Having a mindset of continuous improvement in everything you do
- Finding innovate solutions to problems
- Tenacious, with a pride in what you do
Desirable skills
- A degree in computing, IT or a numerate discipline
- Specific knowledge of our associated technologies like Java, SQL, UML, BPMN or any other cutting-edge technology you think will help you to achieve your goals
- Knowledge of finance products
