For one of our clients, an international company specializing in biotechnology research in the field of neurobiology. The organization conducts extensive research on Alzheimer's, Parkinson's disease and sclerosis, among others. The company also has many departments, including commercial, medical, business, and IT, and its employees include scientists, doctors, and IT professionals.
Your new role
The Sr. Engineer is responsible for the engineering and overall support of the Biogen data centers, colocations, and computer room infrastructure. This also includes the many international affiliate offices in Europe, South America, and ASIA PAC. The Sr. Eng. is responsible to ensure the proper planning, support, and operations of the computer rooms and MDF/IDF rooms at those affiliate locations. Adherence to Data Center policies, procedures, and relevant IT Quality procedures is of the utmost importance.
The individual is expected to oversee and support MSP workflow involving data center operations, projects, Incident, Change, and Request Management. The role further acts as a liaison and partner between IT and the Facilities/Utility organizations on all aspects of Data Center infrastructure and maintenance thereof. Within IT, the Sr. Engineer should represent the Data Center and Colo team in operational meetings, project delivery, and other forums where Data Center representation is required. In addition, the role is responsible to support the following additional scopes within the Data Center and Colo team: Serial Console Server/Out of Band Environment and DCIM related technologies.
What you'll need to succeed
- 5+ years’ experience with Data Center management, including exposure to other technology verticals such as Networking, Servers, or storage
- Strong ability to work autonomously and ability to deliver and maintain calm while under pressure
- Uptime Institute training is a plus
- Bachelor’s Degree, or equivalent courses and training.
