Teaching Assistant


Salary: Based on experience and qualifications. Approx. 3000zl – 3500zl per month after tax.

Start date: May

Qualifications: Qualification in Education (essential)

Experience: Minimum 2 years experience in a school which delivers the National Curriculum for England (desirable)

Skills
- Fluent English; 
- communication with children, colleagues and parents (essential)
- ability to teach Polish - Edukacja przedszkolna i wczesnoszkolna (essential); 
- qualification in Teaching English as a Foreign or Second Language; additional skills that could contribute to wider school development (desirable)

We are offering an exciting opportunity to be part of a new school in Warsaw. We are looking for Teaching Assistants with relevant qualifications and experience to assist teachers in delivering the National Curriculum for England. 

Your main responsibility will be to support teachers and children in the classroom; you will also be expected to participate in professional development activities and communicate with parents.

We are particularly interested in candidates who could contribute to school development or extra curricular activities in areas such as IT, music or teaching English as a second language.

Overall Function

To assist in implementing teaching and learning according to the objectives of the National Curriculum of England in accordance with Polish law.
To assist in teaching and educating students to achieve their potential according to their individual needs and abilities.

Main responsibilities

Organisational Culture

To assist the class teacher in keeping documentation in accordance with school policy and Polish law.
To engage in a culture where staff view themselves as facilitators of learning and reflective practitioners.
To work with teachers to ensure the most effective use of your time.
To ensure disciplined behaviour from students, using school reward and sanction systems to enforce rules and procedures.
Teaching and Learning
To collaborate in planning, preparing and assisting with lessons to all pupils.
To target assistance to the educational needs, abilities and achievement potential of individuals and groups.
To adopt and work towards the implementation of the school development plan of the Thames British School Group and the Park Szczęśliwicki.
To assist in changing displays every half term.
To attend school assemblies and celebrations of learning activities. To use relevant technology to support and differentiate instruction.

Assessment

To assist in assessing and recording the development, progress and attainment of the pupils, communicating this to the class teacher.
To collaborate with the class teacher on oral and written formative and summative assessment.
Wellbeing and support
To promote the well-being of children.
To collaborate with the teacher in providing guidance and support To assist with pastoral care.

Professional Conduct and Communication

To communicate, consult and cooperate with other members of staff. To participate in staff, group or other meetings related to the school. To ensure the safe custody and optimum use of equipment, including instructing and monitoring pupils in this area.
To dress appropriately, according to the school dress code.

Professional Development

To review and evaluate on one’s own teaching and learning.
To inform the Head of School about professional development activities undertaken and courses attended.
To participate in CPD opportunities provided by the school.
To contribute to the professional development of newly-inducted Teaching Assistants.
