Machine Learning Engineer
The role is a highly technical and hands-on engineering role who owns the technical design/development of packaged Cloud solutions and delivering those solutions to our customers via demos, proof of concepts and customer workshops. As a specialist around data engineering and machine learning, this role is expected to have skills and experience around working with large datasets and databases in an enterprise context. Candidate should have experience working with big data tooling and platforms (e.g. Hadoop, Spark, Hive, etc) as well as working with relational and more traditional database technologies (e.g. MySQL, Oracle, SQL Server, etc). Candidates must have strong grasp on ETL and ELT tools to move data from legacy systems into new cloud-based data lake and data warehousing platforms. Candidates must also have a strong machine learning background with experience around building and training new AI models to solve a specific business problem.
Responsibilities:
- Customer business problem discovery and analysis
- Use case storyboarding and user experience design and definition
- Architect and design technical solution and strategy
- Development of demos and showcases of solution
- Testing solutions with pilot customers to gain user feedback/acceptance
- Deliver demos and workshops around the solution(s)
- Assist with conducting proof of concepts and pilot implementations with customers
- Provide product and technical feedback to engineering to address gaps
- Collaborate with your teammates to define new delivery practices and methods to innovate with new solution areas and scale your efforts
- Create compelling video and other types assets to evangelize solutions within Google Cloud’s GTM teams
- Enable other technical resources (customer engineers, professional services and customer success) with our packaged solutions to reach more customers
Preferred qualifications:
- 5+ years of experience serving in the capacity of a Solution/Sales Engineer in a cloud computing environment, or in a customer facing role in a Professional Services or Systems Engineering capacity
- 5+ years of hands-on experience with machine learning tools/algorithms, cloud-based databases, datawarehousing, data visualizations and analytics
- Successfully led project implementations where data science was applied to solve business problems, such as behavior predictions, forecasting and simulations.
- Experience with storyboarding, UX design and creative content development
- Experience with data, information management and databases - relating to Big Data trends and issues within businesses
- Technical experience of web/internet related technologies, architecture across SaaS/PaaS/IaaS and competitive cloud productivity suites
- Familiarity with architecture and operational aspects of large scale distributed systems and with the popular technologies in the machine learning/big data ecosystem (TensorFlow, Spark, etc)
