For our Client, a leading international distributor of various goods, to the office in Warsaw or Zagreb, we are currently looking to recruit:
IT Head of Digital Technology
The position is new to the organization. IT Head of Digital Technology will be responsible for establishing IT digital operations in the Group including implementing applications and solutions that will transform the company’s digital approach. It is an influential leadership position that will be responsible for establishing digital technology in the organization across various markets (chosen markets out of 20 that the company operates in), suggesting investment and advising on priority trade-off decisions, negotiating and managing vendor contracts, recruiting and developing technology experts.
Duties will include but may not be limited to:
The ideal Candidate should have similar experience (including IT leadership duties) and successful track record in implementation of omnichannel technology projects (ie. ecommerce B2B, multimarket ecommerce B2C, mobile applications). Knowledge and understanding of web technologies (HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript and JavaScript frameworks), systems’ architecture, API/microservices, technical design, mobile applications, DevOps approach and ecommerce trends and tools are also required.
IT Head of Digital Technology should also have excellent project and process management skills, be familiar with emerging trends in IT/ecommerce and with Agile methodologies. Due to the international working environment, excellent English is a must.

IT Head of Digital Technology will be responsible for establishing IT digital operations in the Group including implementing applications and solutions that will transform the company’s digital approach. Duties will include but may not be limited to:
- Leading the technology delivery of all major digital applications in the group with key priority on B2B ecommerce platforms development and implementation and their integration within the existing systems (SFA, customer service platforms, ERP, logistics for ecommerce) in the pilot markets. Other projects will be related to: B2C ecommerce systems and mobile applications.
- Managing through partners all aspects of digital application development from resources, budget planning and vendor/tool choice, through the functional design, development, implementation, testing, upgrades and maintenance of the solutions
- Co-designing and cooperation on implementing two speed IT architecture
- Leading the implementation of microservices/API layer enabling modular cross channel upgrades of all frontend applications (developed by external partners)
- Co-creating and co-owning the technology roadmap to execute the company’s strategy.
- Working with local businesses and local IT teams on the efficient scaling and rollout of platforms across markets
- Developing and leading a collaborative and Agile software development approach. Supporting the cultural changes necessary to enable a continuous delivery model
- Identifying emerging technology trends and innovative best practices and ensuring the company is leveraging them where appropriate to increase efficiency, reduce costs, and drive value.
- Working with the IT teams in the Group on development of technology skills
