IT Deployment Lead

PURPOSE STATEMENT

As Technical and Deployment Lead drive detailed planning and execution of IT stream of Track and Trace solution deployment to new end markets and factories to ensure compliance with local legislation and on time in full delivery. Also, responsible to oversee the Solution Architecture and Integration design.

Secondary, this role holds overall accountability for technical aspects of the landing of the solution, including infrastructure and integration between different components & local systems.

PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES

Planning and coordination

  • Responsible to develop and maintain the overall IT deployment plan considering all factories and end markets in scope including all phases of the engagement: initial engagement, fit gap, deployment, testing, cut over, hyper care and transition to CoE
  • Coordinate activities of the global IT deployment team, Solution Integrator and deployment entity teams from inception through successful completion
  • Understand and apply appropriate deployment methodology, leverages industrialized IT deployment for all products
  • Tracks the progress of IT deployment as per agreed plan; understand and report progress against agreed outcomes and related success measures
  • Build and coaches team of IT deployment analysts (provided by SI) who specialize in Manufacturing Execution, Logistic Execution and 3PL and provide knowledge and guidance for local teams for all phases of the deployment
  • Manages deployment risks and issues; escalates when appropriate to Template Delivery Lead and/or IT Lead
  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with template product teams, Solution Integrator, global business SME, Operations Centre of Excellence, end markets, factories and 3PLs; serves as a key person between global team and local deployments to ensure the deployment needs are properly understood in both directions
  • Manages SI deployment team to ensure on time and full delivery of the agreed scope with adequate quality
  • Manages the Commercials, financial cost and budgets associated with deployment activities
  • Drives continuous improvement and automation to reduce the product deployment time and simplify the process; puts appropriate measurements in place to understand where the biggest improvement opportunities are

Technical readiness

  • Lead activities related to functional and technical integration between TaO, MES, Warehouse management systems & components of Track and Trace solution
  • Support local sites with shaping the remediation of their local systems to support BAT Serialization and Track and Trace processes
  • Ensure non-functional requirements from the end markets are properly collected and addressed from architectural point of view
  • Maintain all relevant system environment (FUT, regression, production etc.) and ensure proper checkpoints in place before promoting product to new environment
  • Responsible for Technical Integration Design and Solution architecture

  • Degree educated IT professional with business-facing IT experience in a global environment
  • Strong planning and prioritisation skills, with working knowledge of agile practices
  • Excellent collaboration and stakeholder management skills with ability to clearly communicate, engage, influence and inspire colleagues and stakeholders
  • Leadership skills and ability to build highly performant teams
  • Technical background and aptitude to understand product features/functions and integration landscape to quickly translate between technical specialist and executive management
  • Experienced in handling dependencies, risk and issues and respective mitigation in all required levels
  • Commitment to ongoing personal development and the ability to recognise and celebrate effort and success of colleagues

ib Experience

  • A seasoned IT professional with, as a guideline 5 to 7 years’ experience in the field of IT Manufacturing/Supply Chain
  • Multinational FMCG (ideally tobacco or pharma) and FTSE-100 experience
  • Project management qualifications (Prince2, PMI, etc.) with agile experience (SAFE)
  • Experience at working across multiple end markets/factories to achieve a common goal
  • Delivery of complex multi region or global IT deployment/roll-out projects with multiple products, vendors and teams with concurrent activities in multiple locations
  • Knowledge of Serialization and Track and Trace processes and solutions
  • Knowledge of SAP LE, warehouse management systems, logistics Track and Trace solutions (ideally Movilizer), manufacturing execution systems, serialization solution (ideally Inexto)
  • Good understanding of system integration & connectivity (SAP PI, Axway, CPI, hand held scanners)
  • Experience of implementing Tobacco Product Directive or other serialization and track and trace legislation (e.g. in pharma industry)
  • Nice to have: technical knowledge of EPCIS messaging, understanding of GS1 vocabulary, experience with mobile RF solutions and SAP OER/ATTP
