We’re looking for passionate Cloud Engineer to help us deliver and run a suite of new technology solutions for the entire company. The Cloud Engineer role is accountable for delivering a variety of private and public cloud solutions, and usually works as part of an infrastructure team alongside other engineers and architects.

The Team
The TechOps Team is a new team that was created following the IPO of Elanco, separating from their parent company Eli Lilly & Company. Elanco is looking to build a Technology team, focusing on Infrastructure, where none currently exists and looking to take the opportunity to think differently, build for the future and leverage modern technologies, services and processes across all areas of infrastructure. Internally, we like to describe TechOps as a ‘start-up within an enterprise’!
Responsibilities:
- Designing new solutions to complex problems.
- Executing defined work packages.
- Writing to ensure our solutions are well documented and simple to understand.
- Running handover activities with Operations teams.
- Building enhancements and fixes where necessary.
- Working in an Agile team, attending typical ceremonies (e.g. daily stand-ups, sprint reviews, retrospectives).
- Ensuring the delivered solution meets not just technical, architecture and application principles, but also is compliant to our IT Security, Privacy and Quality needs.
- Running deep dive initiatives to help overcome major incidents, complex problems and/or realise opportunities.
- Active participation in tech talks to educate and raise awareness about different topics, or even sharing new ideas.
- Actively building and staying abreast of emerging technologies, guiding teams on how to interpret and best leverage the emerging technologies.
- Engaging in the community (internally and externally) across multiple channels, looking to share, educate and inspire.
Logistics
The first stage is the application. After this, successful candidates will be invited to a 30 min phone interview. Successful candidates from the first interview, will be invited to a 1-hour face-to-face interview at our office in Warsaw.
Core Skills
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or commensurate industry experience
- Designing, planning, testing and implementing changes in the Hybrid Cloud environment
- Familiar with Hyperconverged Infrastructure
- At least 3 years’ experience in design, developing and implementation of cloud solutions
- At least 5 years’ experience in designing and administrating large VMware environment (vSphere, vCenter, vSAN, NSX-T)
- Experience in VMware on cloud (Azure, AWS)
- Familiar with Linux and Windows Server platforms
- Hands-on scripting capabilities (PowerShell, Python, Bash)
- Experience with various cloud platforms
- Proven knowledge of network services (Cisco, Infoblox)
- Understanding DevOps lifecycle processes and supporting tools
- Strong communication skills with multiple examples of being able to convey complex ideas in a manner that resulted in a definitive direction and result
- Strong personal & work organisational skills
Nice to Have Skills
- Experience with Microsoft Azure Cloud
- Familiar with Cloud Management Platform
- Experience with Ansible automation
- Experience with git (e.g. using tools such as GitHub)
- Strong passion about new technologies, new ideas and creative way of thinking
Language
English: Advanced/Fluent
