For our client, an international corporation we seek a qualified individual to fulfill the following responsibilities:
• Lead the accounting department of the Company in Poland, including treasury and tax,
• Manage but also prepare and post journals for business activities, including a permanent review of accruals,
• Prepare monthly close and reporting in close cooperation with financial planning & analysis,
• Prepare monthly & quarterly balance sheet and profit and loss reviews, and ensuring timely reporting
• Ensure on-going statutory accounting review and reconciliation between the statutory and reporting (US GAAP) books,
• Establish monthly cash flow forecasting and coordinate financing,
• Communicate regularly with the Regional Finance Teams,
• Responsible for identifying, communicating and supporting resolution of issues at hand,
• Assist in driving modernization projects forward, e.g.Oracle implementation,
• Ensure compliance with tax regulations and establish tax declarations (VAT, Inc.),
• Oversee that adequate internal controls and SOx compliance are in place,
• Key contact for external auditors and tax authorities.
Organisation:
• Finance Manager reports to the Regional Financial Controller in Germany with a dotted line to the country’s Managing Director in Poland,
• The incumbent will be based in Warsaw head-offce
• The finance manager will manage a small team of accountants, all in Warsaw.
• Higher education in Economics, Banking, Finance, Tax,
• Minimal 5 year experience in financial accounting (or controlling) or in an auditing firm,
• Strong analytical thinking, flair for data and figures,
• Team work focused – a first experience in managing small teams would be a plus,
• Ability to priorities and ability to work under pressure,
• Experiences with modern EAP Systems would be an asset,
• Very good MS Excel skills,
• Strong communication skills, both in Polish and English,
• Pro-activeness, self-motivation for professional development.
