Job Description

Transformation Team Lead - to lead a team of transformational consultants based at the client site. The Transformation team consists of 3 - 4 resources driving the implementation of transformation across the 3 Finance process towers of of Purchase to Pay, Order to Cash and Record to Report . As well as leading the overall programme the transformation lead is also responsible for one of the process towers. The project is entering its third year. The 1st 2 years of the project have been lead by a resource from IBM's consulting division in Germany, supported by team members from IBM's nearshore and offshore delivery centres.

 

Location:

The Project is based in Munich (Germany) with requirement to be on site 4 days per week, with possible need to travel to other European countries. Resource required for a minimum of two years.

Requirements

Superior Programme Management Skills:

- Clarifying approach with customer and regularly reviewing results with customer

- Managing customers expectations with regards to the desired outcome and possibilities given

- Speaking up to customer if expectations are unrealistically

- Identify and agree programme success criteria with the client

- Manage risks and issues associated with achieving objectives

- Keep IBM and client stakeholders informed of progress

 

Superior Project Management Skills:

- Identify key project milestones

- Set clear expectations for team members and monitor their performance

 

Excellent Conceptual Capabilities in Finance and Accounting Transformation:

- Have good overview of Purchase to Pay, Order to Cash and Record to Report Finance and Accounting

- Have experience of managing transformational change

 

Excellent language skills:

- Fluent English spoken and written

- Fluent German spoken and written

 

International work Experience:

- Experience of working in Europe (Germany an advantage)

 

Cultural Sensitivity:

- Experience of working with people from different cultures

 

Strong Communication Skills:

- Discussing with and challenging opinions of director level

- Discussing with staff members of different knowledge levels, understanding and addressing different viewpoints

- Dealing with confidential and sensitive topics

- Understanding the different degrees of sensitivity of information and treating all of it in the right way ie following the correct paths

- Being able to manage heated discussions

- Challenge IBM delivery team and be able to get the desired and correct information

 

Expert Analytical competency:

- reviewing and understanding facts basis

- identifying areas of misunderstanding and mismatches of information

- investigating reasons and developing the "real" view

 

Workshop Preparation and Facilitation:

- Ability to structure and prepare the content and issues in a workshop discussion mode

- Being able to derive results in a workshop set up through managing the discussion

 

Customer Service View:

- Being able to step into the role expected from customer i.e. to act on behalf of the customer

- In this specific situation to represent the customer and the outcome of the exercise even if it is not in favour of IBM

- Taking a neutral position as much as possible

 

Powerpoint & Excel Skills:

- Ability to prepare excellent quality ppts & xls with functionality required and in the quality expected

 

Documentation:

- finding a way to clearly structure and document results

- ensuring that documentation and outcome is accepted and acknowledged by related parties
