We are working as a recruitment provider searching on our Client's behalf for a person in the following role:
Senior Financial Product Controller (Banking)
Location: Kraków
A critical role in a very important and large team at a leading Banking Shared Services Centre in Krakow. Ideally you will have a background in Banking with an understanding of P&Ls, as the role will need someone who is able to hit the ground running and join the company’s success story in Krakow.
What would you be expected to do in this role?
Be able to work with Profit & Loss Accounts – produce, analyse and review
Control and overview Balance Sheets for the Banking division you are responsible for
Validate the ledger currency risk where necessary for sell off and funding of the P&L
Reconciliation, Investigation and Resolution of challenges and breaks that come up
Daily and Month End adjustments
Working with Front Office, Valuation Control and Accounting Control teams
Month End General Ledger closing and supporting the Monthly Balance Sheet production
Process improvement ideas and implementation
Ensure compliance with company international standards
Working with ethical standards
Help to automate manual processes to improve productivity
Resolve issues and management queries as they arise
Ideally you will be able to show the following skills and experience:
Understanding of Financial Reporting
Experience of Accounting of Treasury Products
Documented knowledge you have worked in a similar role
Master’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics or Mathematics. International financial / accounting qualification (CIMA, CFA, ACCA) would be preferred
2+ years of experience working in a Capital or Global Markets environment. Working with IFRS, US GAAP, IAS reporting frameworks would be an advantage
Understanding of Treasury in a banking environment
Understanding product lifecycles in financial markets
Good English
Advanced Excel and Access. VBA and SQL would be preferred
