Wanted: PCB Design Engineer for ARM Linux SBC

Project description:

We're an experienced team working together in beautiful Krakow, Poland. We build quality software and provide consulting to clients around the globe - some from day to day, and others project by project. We speak Ruby, PHP, Objective C, Javascript, English and Polish.

With the new opportunities ahead we are looking for a design engineer to develop an ultra-low power, Linux-capable M2M device for a vehicle tracking and payments application.

Our current design features a baseboard with a GSM modem, stand-alone SirfStar IV GPS receiver, keypad controller, and charge controller. Peripherals are controlled by the TS4200 400Mhz computer on module which uses the Atmel AT91SAM9G20 ARM9 processor. We would like to put the Atmel processor or a similar part onto our current baseboard design creating a single board solution.

Job Description

Part selection, Schematic Design, PCB Layout, and Routing (routing can be outsourced to another vendor).Work with PCB and assembly vendors to manage design through production.

Desired additional features for this new board include:

Support for canbus/obdII vehicle diagnostics interface

Advanced security for use as a mobile payments terminal

Support for wifi hotspot capability

Ultra-low power consumption equal to or less than TS4200

Rapid boot of Linux Kernel

Qualifications:

• 7+ years of PCB design/engineering experience

• Previous experience with M2M and GSM applications - RF design experience a plus

• Access to PADS, Altium, or similar packages (current files are in PADS)
