For our Client, well-known international financial institution located in Kraków we are looking for a person interested in the executive role of Operational and Resilience Risk Reporting & Analytics - Offshore Lead.

Your new role
Global Operational and Resilience Risk (ORR) is a sub function of the Group Risk function. Its purpose is to make sure the Organisation understands, and is in control of its non-financial risk position. In addition, the function provides resilience risk stewardship to the global businesses, functions and entities we operate in.

Reporting to the Chief Operating Officer of Operational and Resilience Risk, the role holder will be responsible for leading and driving the strategy and development of all ORR CoE activity for Reporting and Analytics. They will drive engagement and connectivity across the global community of Reporting & Analytics specialists within the ORR function and act as the key interface with key stakeholders across the Risk and Compliance Reporting and Analytics utility and with NFR stakeholders across the three lines of defence.

The Reporting and Analytics CoE provides support to various business groups and the role involves leading and coordinating data analysis, model and strategy development and implementation, reporting and data management and various ad hoc projects as required across multiple geographies. It has a critical role to play in ensuring that the right information and analytical insights are delivered to senior management to inform strategic planning and decision making.

This role should ensure stable practices across all Reporting and Analytics CoEs, ensuring they are executed in line with policy and standards (managing and maintaining EUCs, Standard Operating Procedures etc.). They should also ensure team operate in line with the Risk and Compliance Function’s Risk Data Aggregation Framework and quality standards.

This is an exciting opportunity to help drive innovation in the creation and delivery of analytics and insight, leveraging new technologies, improving the efficiency and quality of existing processes and collaborating with stakeholders across the Three lines of deference to deliver the right outcomes for ORR and the Company. 

Principal responsibilities
  • Responsible for delivery of high quality MIS & Reporting, Data & Information Management & Analysis solutions to which underpin the ORR strategy to deliver data driven insights
  • Partner with business stakeholders in formulating key information management strategies
  • Translate key information management solutions as generic and re-deployable across regions / countries within NFR community
  • Drive innovation in analytics and insights ensuring that processes are automated, BCBS 239 compliant and leveraging new technologies.
  • Lead the Poland CoE for ORR and where necessary undertake entity management responsibilities for other Poland based ORR resources.
  • Provide Business/Functional leadership across Reporting, Data & Information Management portfolios spanning all NFR entities across the group
  • Operate as a senior leader within the Global Analytics Centres and engage with senior stakeholders and teams across NFR
  • Use networks inside and outside the business to provide support in delivering goals and innovating
  • Influence and negotiate with key stakeholders to drive adoption of best practices and standards
  • Manage deep on-going relationships with current and potential customers/clients/team - develops a connection built on trust and track record of delivery
  • Establishes goals, success criteria and performance measures to evaluate the success of major strategic initiatives

What you'll need to succeed
Functional Knowledge
  • Have extensive NFR knowledge and sufficient expertise to face off appropriately to a variety of risk managers in the Group and also external parties. Recent experience in resilience risk management, key controls and processes preferred.
  • Have experience of either leading or overseeing large scale complex change initiatives in a 1LOD or 2LOD capacity.
  • Experience in dealing with complex problems by adopting a pragmatic approach, identifying and prioritising core requirements and translating them into a clear set of required activities that address the problem essential.
  • Knowledge of the major areas of a Global Bank that can span retail, commercial or investment banking products and processes with a strong understanding of the risk characteristics / profile of key products and channels.
  • Excellent listening and verbal communication skills to be able to identify and present complex issues and build relationships with key internal & external stakeholders and be able to challenge and influence their decisions.
  • Excellent written communication skills to develop compelling and logically structured presentations and papers that are thoughtful, clear and concise.
  • Excellent analytical skills; comfortable interrogating data; able to review and evaluate a wide array of materials leading to key insights and robust evidence that form the basis of a logical judgment / set of recommendations.
  • At ease with ambiguity, uncertainty and a changing environment. Not afraid to change the status quo to deliver the best outcomes.
  • Business fluency in English
