International Tax Advisor
Location: WarsawResponsibilities:
The International Tax Advisor will be the regional representative of the global corporate tax team. He/She will keep the Senior Tax Director, International Tax Strategy apprised of all risks and opportunities related to the effective tax rate. Additional responsibilities include oversight and support for the quarterly foreign tax provision process, working closely with the Senior Tax Director, Accounting and Tax Compliance and his team.
This position will involve substantial cooperation with other functions, including but not limited to, Corporate Accounting & Reporting, Corporate Financial Planning, and Treasury organizations. The role requires a comprehensive understanding of international tax compliance, tax provision, tax planning and transfer pricing experience.
Key Objective/Deliverables:
- Cooperating and partnering with the various teams in accounting, finance, legal and supply chain to manage intercompany transactions and assist in maintaining control and consistency of the transfer pricing process across the company’s operations; support implementing, monitoring and maintaining global transfer pricing policies
- Corporate Tax Compliance: supervise the calculation, reporting and payment of corporate tax liabilities and provide oversight of local tax compliance activities for OUS affiliates in conjunction with a global outsource provider; monitor and establish foreign reporting requirements for new entities and changes to current structures
- Transfer Pricing: Operational reviews of EMEA legal entity results and planning activities related to the administration and compliance of the transfer pricing process
- VAT: oversee general structure compliance questions and handle specific questions in relation to changes in law or changes in business processes
- Support SOX compliance and documentation
- Tax planning: work with teams worldwide to plan activities in the OUS region
- M&A – Support M&A activities, in particular with a focus on analysis of transfer pricing, international tax and VAT aspects
- Support the setup and implementation of Tax Provision software
- Lead, motivate, and partner with team members to provide them with appropriate performance management
Minimum Requirements:
- 5-7 years in-depth international tax compliance, tax provision, VAT, and transfer pricing experience, preferably with a combined professional firm and in house experience
- Bachelor’s degree in relevant area: required
- Broad knowledge US GAAP, including tax accounting under ASC 740, FIN48, and APB23
- Strong tax planning and research skills
- Ability to work independently; self-starter
- Ability to lead and work in a team oriented environment
- Data management skills (Excel)
Additional Preferences:
- Accounting, tax expert or master’s degree in taxation, or CPA or equivalent
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Excellent organizational and self-management skills
- Fluent in English, additional languages are an advantage.
- Experience with CorpTax or SAP would be helpful
