Operating in a fast paced and rapidly growing firm requires strong controls around revenue recognition, intercompany charging and, critically insightful analysis to help shape the direction of the firm. This role ensures the numbers are right and helps us steer the firm in the short and medium term through insightful analysis. Given the pace of growth there is always strong aspect of continuous improvement in process and use of technology. The role operates 'internationally' across offices and as a result has a high level of international inter-office collaboration.

This role supports the CFO and FP&A Manager whilst working closely with the staffing team and providing weekly reporting to the Commercial Head & Weekly Trading Meeting. In addition, the role provides challenge to Partners around pricing and revenue and ad hoc analysis to Sector heads and Sector practice managers. Within Finance the role works across offices with colleagues in each office.

For our Client, an international leading international boutique strategy firm advising a wide range of Clients because of growth we are currently looking for proper candidate for Group Commercial Controller / Partner.

Company is growing fast and would like to gain mature candidate for the role which will involve in to challenging commercial aspect within whole group. Candidate will be fully engaged in reporting but also recommendation regarding revenue and commercial aspects. Will report direct to Group CFO and FP&A Manager. Currently role is fully expert but in future can be potential to grow the team so people with managerial experience are also welcome.

Description

Revenue Recognition

  • Ensure correct revenue recognised in right entity, right period & right time.
  • Ensure intercompany charging is complete, accurate and timely - following transfer price policy.
  • Identify and advise on risks around revenue recognition (realisation / compliance)
  • Ensure alignment between staffing-billing and revenue.
  • Analyse engagement letters ensuring Terms align to commercial rules.

Revenue Reporting Tools

  • Track, report and make appropriate interventions to manage level of investment / alignment with commercial rules.
  • Maintain and develop the Power BI dashboard integrity for reporting utilisation, capacity, billable time and development of insightful metrics.
  • Provide the weekly and monthly reporting of the numbers and related insights.

Planning & Insightful Analysis

  • Analyse investments by client, Partner and type - providing actionable insights.
  • Provide support to identifying insights (risks and opportunities, trends and insights) in revenue, related P&L metrics and key non-financial measures.
  • Analysis may include understanding conversions and repeat, client profitability, project size, alternative team structures, utilisation, pricing changes and charge rates and Gross Margin variance analysis.
  • Help define and frame key questions to be answered.
  • Own the rate card / job sheet to ensure the integrity of pricing projects.
  • Support the FP&A Manager in annual and bi-annual planning process.

Continuous Improvement Process and leveraging Technology.

  • Support continuous improvement initiatives in the Prospect to Cash process.
  • Support improvements in leveraging technology to provide efficiency and insight - either on processes or analysis.
  • Apply automation and new tools to help improve revenue process and insights.

Profile

  • A qualified professional with a minimum 5 years of experience in a similar role in international company, preferably in consulting or IT solutions or business solutions, also direct form Financial Audit department but where candidate is able to understand billable hours and utilisation,
  • Professional qualifications: such ACCA / CIMA will be a strong asset.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of finance aspects and controlling.
  • Working knowledge of management accounting and controlling, financial analysis, but also revenue recognition and commercial analysis.
  • Deep understanding of all P&L and Balance sheet components.
  • Strong strategic thinking combined with excellent analytical skills.
  • Fluency in English is a must.
  • Very good technical skills, able to build new reporting, Excel, VBA.
  • Pro-active hands-on, solution driven mentality, with attention to detail, Very good presentation and communication skills.
  • Able to work as business partner and cooperating across whole group with CLevel/Partner but also Consultants
