EMEA Tax Specialst

EMEA Tax Specialist will be in direct working relationship with the various teams across the region, coordinating communication with local Finance, Supply Chain and Legal teams.

It will also be their responsibility to support Corporate team in reviewing corporate income tax provision computations and tax reconciliations according to set deadlines and requirements and liaise with tax advisors as appropriate.

The successful candidate will have relevant tax experience from public accounting (about 5 years of experience in BIG 4 companies or similar), is fluent in English, and would like to work in dynamic / project driven environment.  Strong analytical and technical skills are necessary for this role, and a knowledge of other European tax legislation would be preferred.

Client Details

For our Client, a well-known and fast growing pharmaceutical company, we are looking for a candidate for EMEA TAX Specialist position based in Warsaw or Dublin (potentially also other EMEA country).

In this role the EMEA Tax Specialist will support EMEA Tax team in managing corporate income tax issues across the EMEA region in approx. 40 jurisdictions. He/ she will be reporting to the EMEA Tax Manager located in Dublin, Ireland.

Description

  • Support EMEA Tax Director and Tax Manager in tax matters in the region
  • Assist in the development and implementation and project management of new tax strategies
  • Responsible for supporting international tax matters and communication with local tax peers
  • Analyzing tax questions, including analyzing proposed and newly enacted EMEA tax legislation
  • Support the maintenance of existing tax and transfer pricing strategies and structures
  • Assist in the group's financial and tax reporting obligations - including:

Assistance with year-end and quarterly US GAAP tax provisioning for EMEA region

Ongoing assistance with the US tax reporting processes for all EMEA legal entities

Provide ad hoc tax advice and support to EMEA group companies on various projects and issues

Liaise with the various teams across the region, coordinating communication with local Finance, Supply

Chain and Legal teams, to gather information to respond to queries from tax authorities in EMEA

jurisdictions

Assist with internal SOX requirements

  • Coordination with sites and/or fiscal representatives on tax audits

Location: Poland, Ireland, other EMEA country

Profile

  • 5 year's experience within the Big4 or similar
  • International tax and/or transaction services (tax matters) experience
  • Master's Degree (preferably in finance, accountancy, economics and/ or law)
  • Tax Advisor license or equivalent
  • Fluent business English with experience of working in multinational environment (everyday use at work)
  • Working knowledge of MS Office: especially Excel (Pivot Tables), PowerPoint, Word is a must
  • Ability to prioritise multiple tasks in a deadline driven, dynamic environment
  • Analytical approach
  • Ambitious, career focused individual with keen interest in developing and progressing a career within international tax
  • Ability and willingness to travel when required
  • Accuracy and timeliness with a strong attention to detail
  • Investigative ability/aptitude
  • The ability and willingness to pick up and develop technical knowledge on the job, through formal training sessions and through self-education
  • Team working and communication skills

Would be an asset:

  • Working knowledge of SAP, HFM, Peoplesoft
  • Qualified (part) accountant or equivalent
