Description
We are member of French ALTEN Group present in 25 countries around the world and employing over 34,000 engineers and IT specialists. Since 1988 we deliver advanced IT systems for well-known brands, develop medicine and the renewable energy industry. ALTEN innovates aero and cosmonautics, trains, electric and autonomous vehicles, and even space rockets. We are currently looking for DevOps Engineer with AWS who will join our team.
Main Tasks
- Work across one or more application development DevOps ‘pods’ as the Amazon Web Services (AWS) engineer
- Lead innovation and R&D activities to propose new solutions to improve performance and efficiency
- Build and manage Cloud environments to enable application deployments
- Engineer solutions on Digital Cloud infrastructure using Infrastructure As Code methods (e.g. Terraform)
- Consume and deploy centrally provided common cloud services for business unit / application DevOps teams (e.g. domain services, networking, logging.)
- Consume centrally agreed base AMI’s and develop & maintain business line specific AMI’s
- Ensure compliance with centrally defined Digital Cloud blueprints, design patterns and standards
- Build and support continuous integration (CI), continuous delivery (CD) and continuous testing activities
- Engineering activities to implement patches provided centrally by Cloud Services
- Update support and operational documentation as required
- Provide impact assessments where requested for changes proposed on Digital Cloud services
Requirements
- Experience of building a range of AWS services including EC2, VPC, S3, Lambda, Databases (e.g. DynamoDB, RDS)
- Expert understanding of DevOps principles and Infrastructure as a Code concepts and techniques
- Strong understanding of CI/CD and available tools
- Security and Compliance, e.g. IAM and cloud compliance/auditing/monitoring tools
- Ability to build strong relationships with Cloud Services, Application DevOps, cross functional IT and global/local IT teams
- Good leadership and teamwork skills – Works collaboratively with DevOps application ‘pods’ to provide the digital cloud capability/skills required to deliver the service.
- Operational effectiveness – delivers solutions that align to approved design patterns and security standards
- Excellent skills in at least one of following: Python, Ruby, Java, JavaScript, Go, Groovy, Scala
- Experience working within an Agile environment
- Demonstrable experience of Linux administration and scripting preferably Red Hat
