We are seeking for Category Buyers ready to join new structures in Katowice.
Purpose of the job:
- Managing sourcing execution and sourcing strategy implementation
- Contract management
- Developing of procurement categories in terms of sourcing strategy
- Aligning category strategic plan to the company budget
- Extensive use of the supplier lists
- Actively participating in both internal and external analysis of the industry and the suppliers, in close working together with production, finance, product management and the supply chain.
- Leading supplier selection and fact based negotiations
- Acting as a single point of contact for the business, defining improvement actions related to the existing supplier base in terms of cost optimization, KPI implementation & follow up, etc.
- Supporting the cross functional sourcing team • Managing relations with suppliers
- Optimized sourcing and e-sourcing methods
- Coordinating activities with other buyers in other plants/geographies
- Research of internal and external data • Performing supplier analysis, including supplier financials and capabilities (products/ services, quality levels, etc.), using available and defined sources of information
- Consulting business intelligence reports for procurement activities
- Providing analytical support during the supplier screening and supplier selection process through assisting in the development of Request For Information, Proposals, Quotations to collect supplier information
- Supporting the value tracking process through collecting data on initiative information, monitor savings and create reporting on saving progress
- Performs all sourcing actions for a given category or commodity with excellent knowledge on the product and the market
- Investigate, select, and develop sources of supply to minimize supply risks and to optimize the total cost of ownership
- Negotiates contracts between the company and the supplier
- Taking ownership of the relationship between the company and the supplier
- Active involvement in category management and sourcing
- Accountable to safeguard the BOM-cost is in line with project objectives and the lead-times are conform product market requirement
Experience:
- 3-5 years of experience
Education:
- Master in Engineering or Commercial Engineering, Economics
Competencies:
- Communication & negotiation skills
- Good knowledge of English in both reporting and communication.
- Knowledge of other languages (e.g. French, German, Italian) will be considered as an asset
- Entrepreneurial and initiative
- Self-motivated, goal oriented
- Acting as a team-player
Social skills
- Knowledge of principles and practices of procurement
- Being willing and able to travel, which takes 20-30% of the working time
