Business Analyst

The purpose of this role is to complete tasks assigned to the BA team in support of meeting the objectives outlined on the Surveillance IT Book of Work
The tasks will include data mapping analysis, requirements gathering and documenting requirements and functional specifications and participating in the testing process
The BA team supports multiple projects and change initiatives across Surveillance and comprises of both contract and permanent resources
Completion of tasks assigned to Business Analysts Team to agreed timescales, scope and quality measures
Analysis and documentation of business requirements
Production of detailed documentations like business requirement document, functional specifications in order for a development team / vendor to meet the required business outcome
Maintain full and up-to-date understanding of the business strategy, current practices and system capabilities
gain an in-depth knowledge of the Surveillance application/tool and the Standard Solution framework
Specification and documentation of surveillance analytics to a standard which would bear scrutiny by an internal audit or external regulators
The participation in testing cycles, working with the System Testers to ensure adequate test scripts have been built and run, assisting users with acceptance testing
Leading, facilitating and participation in meetings / workshops for requirement management/ demonstration of developed software
Peer Review of BA team artefacts when required to ensure consistency and quality standards
Ensuring compliance with all relevant internal instructions (FIMs, GSMs, circulars), internal control standards and external regulatory requirements, including the management of operational risk and adherence to the Group’s standards of ethical behaviour
Following Risk-Based Project Management methodology, adhering to production of all necessary documentation
Required:
Mandatory prior experience in Global Markets / Investment Banking knowledge Ppreferably in regulator / compliance related projects
Good hands on producing/authoring BRDs, FRDs
Work independently with business and stake holders. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills (comfortable in written and verbal communications) to facilitate with users from around the world and from different cultural backgrounds), relationship management and flexible interpersonal skills
Ability to Lead team business analyst to move the assigned tasks to closure
A structured approach to the management and planning of their own work (able to efficiently manage multiple tasks, prioritising appropriately and transparently)
Accountability for delivery – takes ownership of tasks assigned to ultimate resolution with minimal supervision
Experienced in working with resources in geographically dispersed teams, appreciating and respecting local cultures
Able to articulate clearly the project lifecycle and application development process including best practice methodologies and an uncompromising eye for quality
Basic Capital Markets Domain Knowledge
Educated to degree level or equivalent
Should have worked in Waterfall and Agile Project Deliveries
Should be able to manage complex requirements from different stakeholders and should be able to articulate the requirements as product feature
Should have worked as System Analyst or in Techno Functional Role
Should have worked on JIRA for requirement management
Proven, significant and demonstrable experience of analyzing and documenting business requirements for global applications
Practical experience in functional analysis and design, utilising different methodologies i.e. Use Cases, Business Process Modelling within a Waterfall or Agile Project environment
Proven, significant and demonstrable experience of following a structured approach to analysis, including the preparation of all related artefacts (e.g. functional system specifications, data feed specifications, etc.)
Strong technical written communication skills
Excellent knowledge of the project lifecycle and application development process including best practice methodologies
Basic Markets knowledge across a range of products: FX Equities, Equity Derivatives, Fixed Income
