We are working as a recruitment provider searching on our Client's behalf for a person in the following role:
Big Data Engineer
Taking part in the projects from the commercial banking area to deliver actionable business information
Implementing data transformations to expose data via modern BI tools in line with expected project targets and timelines
Working closely with various stakeholders located in different places in the world
Working closely with the Product Owner - accepting completed tasks and prioritizing planned work.
Helping with continuous improvement (making sure retrospective action points are implemented)
Building and maintaining good working relationship with all the team members
The right person for this job will be an enthusiastic collaborator who knows how to improve internal culture and can work closely with developers. You will be a perfect fit for the role if you meet the below requirements:
Experience working in relevant environment/s, i.e. High complexity, high data volumes, dynamic.
Perform or support data quantitative and qualitative analysis.
Understanding of using relational and unrelational databases
Perform or have a knowledge about extracting, importing, and exporting of data – ETL (extract, transform, load)
Participate in validating data, development, implementation, testing activities
Understanding data modeling - keeping data in structured format, conceptual, logical and physical data modelling
Perform data analysis of key problem areas to assist in root cause analysis and data reconciliations to identify data anomalies
Understanding of Big Data and Cloud technologies
Experience with relevant development languages and frameworks like SQL, Java ,Python, Scala, Spark
Familiarity with various operating systems: Linux/Unix, Windows
Understanding of various data storage systems
Understanding of Cloud environments
Research and collect data to assist with product development and analysis
Role relevant qualifications, i.e.Relevant Degree, relevant experience (Big Data Engineer/Analyst/Modeler)
Ability to work under pressure, find logical solutions to problems and produce work unsupervised.
Understanding of customers' needs and delivering excellent customer service
A flexible and adaptable approach to change and will support others to respond in a similar way
Achieving targets and meeting expectations whilst supporting and encouraging others to do the same
Supporting others' performance, enabling them to achieve by providing clear direction, motivation and support
Experience in Agile/ DevOps environment and in assisting in production support
