Technical Project Manager

Context :

The role of TPM will be responsible for overall execution and governance covering multiple work streams, adopting Agile practices to enable successful delivery of new products and services that protect the Bank.

Working within the overall direction set by the Product Owner, the TPM will be given a set of problems to solve. The TPM will engage with the empowered product teams to together figure out the best solution, supported by a Scrum master.

This role requires a keen ability to establish priorities and manage resources including third parties in an Agile delivery environment, with a strong focus on stakeholder management and relationship building with external and internal partners.

This role needs to understand the products, the customers, the value being delivered; they need to drive the backlog, the prioritisation of work, the stakeholder communications; and they need to actively manage the dependencies, risks, issues etc. on behalf of the accountable Product Owners, to resolve or mitigate them and unblock the team.

Ensuring the project is running on target and in accordance with all the Bank governance and control standards is also critical.

• Product ownership on behalf of accountable product owner

o Ensure the goals, scope, product and priorities are understood

o Work closely with other Cybersecurity teams to ensure interfaces are defined and understood

o Ensure adherence to HSBC policy, governance controls and design standards

o Work with third parties, which may include academia, vendors, Legal and R&D organisations.

• Delivery Management

o Will lead delivery of product development / project workstreams, adopting the Agile delivery lifecycle

o Work with the team to effectively manage the product development backlog against clear priorities

o Identifying, managing and communicating dependencies and risks to product delivery

o Actively manage Blockers, Risks, Issues, Assumptions and Dependencies and escalating as required to the Product Owner and Portfolio Manager, making recommendations to influence decision-making in order to maintain progress towards delivery and benefits realisation

• Experience working as a Project/Delivery Manager in complex programmes
• Knowledge of Agile project delivery with demonstrable experience, ideally with domain knowledge of any of, cybersecurity, machine learning or big data.
• Strong familiarity with using JIRA and JIRA administration
• Exceptional planning and leadership skills
• Exceptional business and stakeholder management and communication skills

• Prior experience as a Project Manager within Highly Regulated industries
• Prior experience as a Product Manager within a large and complex organization
• Knowledge of Cybersecurity principles and controls
• Experience of working with innovative teams creating bespoke solutions to novel problems
