Our client is a professional Biotechnology organization, based in Oost-Vlaanderen Belgium.
The client is a growing company in the field of microbiology where their platform services clients in their preclinical stage research
ROLE DESCRIPTION
As the group lead you will guide a interdisciplinary team of scientists in the quest to novel microbiological solutions. You coordinate internal and external activities. You have demonstrated lead experience with direct reports as well as external collaboration experiences.
RESPONSIBILITIES
You are responsible for multiple bacteriological projects at the same time, while designing and developing microbiological methods, make sure that manufacturing protocols of the EMA/FDA are met. You lead in drug development efforts and troubleshoot for your team. The current team consists of 4 people and it is your task to figure out what and who you would need to expand your team in the coming year.
Your management style is best described as emphatic, clear and you handle pressure well. Your role will be pivotal in the ongoing culture change towards a more industrial mindset.
REQUIREMENTS
- PhD in microbiology or related
- 4+ years of industry experience in biotech or pharmaceuticals
- Hands on research experience in gut microbiomes or similar
- Team management experience in industrial setting is needed
- Bacteriology knowledge is highly preferred
