Software Architect_Networking

Early stages of the Ford's next Software Platform evolution development for new Fully Networked Vehicle (FNV) Electrical Architecture. Project is focused on creation of the modern Software Defined Vehicle digital infrastructure. Target Software Platform will operate in variety of the environments and is critical to:

Expand the use of industry adopted APIs

Support high velocity application development

Enable next generation vehicle applications

Luxoft will focus on providing core parts for Automotive Middleware around AUTOSAR (Classic and Adaptive) including: networking, configuration, security, diagnostics, etc. Additionally Luxoft will participate in development of components for virtual environment. This virtual environment will provide support of the CI activities including: automated builds, virtual ECUs/Machines and automated testing support.

Project management maturity must reach ASPICE level 3. It requires establishing of the transparent project execution monitoring and control. Each participant will be responsible for providing evidences of systematic and significant achievement of the defined process attributes.

In this position you will be responsible for helping the FNV work streamlining, shaping the vision of the architecture and designs, assist in development and software verification process.

As an Architect you will define the overall system/software architecture and make high-level design choices that apply to the system as a whole and/or key subparts of the system.

You will be leading work around architecture, design and documentation of interfaces, and other design documentation. Furthermore, you will also support and coach the teams to follow architectural decisions taken on their daily work. You will be a part of the overall product quality work by defining needed guidelines for design and coding, together with teams.

Day to day responsibilities include:

Supports the definition of the overall architecture as well as the architecture of features/stories

Development of concepts and architectures in cooperation with the client

Creation of software architecture for system functions and software components in the embedded area, taking into account platform- and project-specific constraints (e.g. TCP/IP, QoS, DNS, AVB, VLAN, TSN, etc.)

Creation of relevant architecture artefacts in project-specific tools according to process

Conduct and participate in meetings to coordinate with relevant stakeholders

• Bachelor/Masters degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering or related technical areas
• You have 3+ years of experience with embedded systems development
• 4-7+ years of overall software experience
• 3-5+ years networking experience: Ethernet and IP forwarding, control plane or management plane
• 2+ years of experience as Software Architect
• Understanding of at least some networking fundamentals and protocols (e.g.: TCP/IP, QoS, DNS, AVB, VLAN, TSN, etc.)
• Linux kernel and drivers experience is a plus
• Strong in C/C++
• Experience using an RTOS (e.g.: QNX, Embedded Linux)
• Knowledge of Git and related tools
• Strong written and verbal communication
• Excellent teamwork and people skills

• Understanding of hardware boards, layout
• Development experience in one or more areas of Linux/QNX device drivers, networking stack, network security
• Experience with Ethernet link and IP layer troubleshooting
• Exposure to standards - SGMII; AUTOSAR; IETF RFCs; IEEE 802.x
• Working experience with vendor chips (e.g., NXP, TI, Broadcom, etc) is a plus
