Senior Unix System Administrator
Location: KrakowThe UNIX team is looking for a Senior System Administrator for SAN and NAS migration project. You will be providing off-site and on-site migration support (primarily encryption) as well as any infra related activities for Investment Banking and Wealth Management divisions.
We expect regular admin skills and technical expertise in areas of Solaris/Linux, VERITAS/LVM, Clusters, networking, and storage.
Provide daily system admin support to clients when required. Work on key projects besides supporting major infrastructure events like BCM tests, DC power downs.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Implementation of project requests, including Platform migrations
- Meet with client on regular basis to understand client's requirements and to further improve stability and scalability.
- Problem resolution and ownership of issues from RTB2 through L3 and back to the business.
- Conflict and risk management of issues and their resolution
- Maintenance of the UNIX infrastructure:
- Service capacity
- Service monitoring
- Change management
- Operational improvements:
- Procedure and process creation amendment
SKILLS
MUST
- Bachelor's Degree (Prefer Information Technology)
- Minimum 5 Years Unix/Linux Systems Administration Experience
- Majority of the following: Solaris, RHEL, VERITAS Clustering/LVM (VCS a plus)
- Fundamental skills with Veritas Storage Foundations, Volume Manager, File System and Cluster server.
- Ability to write scripts in some administrative language (for example Tk, Perl, ksh, sh, csh)
NICE TO HAVE
- Experience with NAS (Netapp Hitachi NAS), SAN (Hitachi, EMC)
Familiarity with fundamental networking/distributed computing environment concepts, such as NFS, routing, troubleshooting network related issues.
- Basic understanding of the Banking and Finance industries with previous job experience, relational databases knowledge, Knowledge of SAN and NAS, Knowledge of VMWare ESX, Knowledge of Veritas Cluster Volume Manager concepts and operations
