Sopra Steria Poland, global provider of IT services and solutions, due to dynamic development of our business in Katowice, is running several recruitment projects. Especially we are looking for English speaking:

Senior Unix Engineer (Bench)

Working hours: Business hours, no on-call duty

Main Activities:

• Perform 3rd level support to customer infrastructure and develop solutions to stabilize and refresh customer environment : production, development and benchmark

1. Production - mostly administrative tasks performed on different systems such as Solaris, RedHat, HP-UX, AIX
2. Deployment - initial configuration of machines that goes into production environment (physical as HP and Oracle servers as well as LDOMs)
3. Benchmark - managing the test environment which includes all the above together with incidents and problem solving in details

• Performing root cause analysis and direct cooperation with vendors
• Troubleshooting
• Incident solving

Mandatory required skills:

• Very good Linux/Unix skills (AIX, Red Hat, Solaris, HP UX) server administration knowledge (including (remote OS installation, updates/upgrades, configuration, patching, utilities, scripting, networking, monitoring/system logs, user management, diagnostic software & hardware issues)
• Very good experience with VMware virtualization products
• Very good experience with virtualization LDOM
• Very good knowledge of ESX, vSphere and vCenter
• Good knowledge about backup solutions
• Good analytical and problem solving skills to troubleshoot systems problems
• Must have a proactive customer focused attitude to providing an IT service
• Fluent english speaking
