Senior Technical Solution Consultant

Our client is a finance software specialist focused on equipping Chief Financial Officers to achieve their strategies and ambitions. With their team of 300, they continue to win against the big technology mega-vendors at many of the world’s leading banking, insurance and telecom companies.

Responsibilities:

• Provides assistance and advisory to clients with regards to configuration, customisations and extensions of the implemented solution and relating to its ongoing maintenance as well as development
• Assesses the current state of the solution and how it embeds in the client’s ecosystem by running appropriate monitoring & health checks
• Liaises with client stakeholders to ensure requirements are captured, translated and implemented as specified
• Manages & triages issues to the solution, applying updates and workarounds for known issues, logging tickets on client’s behalf and ensuring they progress to resolution
• Documents and tracks changes to the solution
• Leads and owns streams during solution upgrades and makes sure customisations are compatible with new standard product release
• Coordinates activities within the team and with other internal department representatives
• Helps implement & enforce best practices and promotes adherence to generally applicable delivery frameworks
• Provides training and knowledge transfer to client’s (key) users
• Shares knowledge within the team, trains and mentors colleagues
• Contributes to lessons learned sessions, identify improvements and leads the implementation of these

Requirements:

• Very good English & communication skills, B2-C1
• Experience in working with external clients and different levels of stakeholders (operational)
• Experience in technical support, software development or consultancy
• “Client first” attitude
• Analytical, client-focused, problem-solving and quick-learner
• Ability to provide conscise and accurate updates and explanations to clients and team members
• Continuous improvement mindset
• Ability to identify known issues and document workflows & processes
• Has good understanding of internal responsibilities and reporting lines

• Understanding of accounting principles / revenue streams would be an asset
• Experience in implementation projects for business / finance software would be a benefit

Technical Skills:

• Proven commercial experience of realtional databases PL/SQL, especially the ability to create procedures – Oracle ideal, Teradata bonus
• Knowledge of Unix/Linux operating systems and command-line tools
• Experience with ETL + BI tools & platforms
• Exposure to performance tuning (databases)
• Experience in programming (Oracle, Java etc.)
• Exposure to Tomcat or any other webserver a bonus
• Scheduling tool experience (Control-M / Autosys / Other) a bonus
• Experience with Cloud-based solutions a bonus

Availability and work shifts:

• Work inside client’s business hours
• Possible occasional standby cover during major events (period closes, upgrades, changes)
