Team overview
Masters Data Technology team with Architecture and Data Science Division is at the forefront of building the bank’s Strategic Reference Data Platforms Initial Focus on the initiative is to stand up Client, Account, Product, Reference and Security Master. The Masters Technology team is looking for a motivated, skilled Dev Ops Engineer to be part of Platform Engineering team focusing on standing up new Masters environments, building Integration Build environment with right controls around Automated Migrations, Configuring builds and automating deployments. In addition he/she would be responsible for managing the software deployments and perform upgrades. Candidate will be an individual contributor, expected to be hands on in Java and is expected to have prior scripting experience. Detailed skill set requirement is provided below

Tasks:
- Environment Management and Deployments, Administration, support and maintenance.
- Manage Integration Build Environments and Automated Migration Processes.
- Configure software builds and automated deployment to non-prod and production like regions.
- Create, maintain, and enhance tools and scripts to build and deploy our software products.
- Troubleshoot Application Configuration issues in development and test environments.
- Install/upgrade new software tools as needed to support development.
- Participate in the improvement, documentation, communication and enforcement of configuration engineering processes for software applications.
- Continually evaluate tools and technologies to improve the overall release process.
Qualifications
The Engineer will possess:
- 5+ Software Engineering experience building solutions in Java or Scripting Languages
- 3+ DevOps experience at a financial firm preferred
- Strong Analytical Skills, Able to comprehend and dissect a problem
- Must have strong deductive reasoning & diagnostic problem-solving skills.
- Self-motivated, fast learner, willing to go outside of comfort zone and learn new things.
Core Skills:
- Experience with source control systems such as GIT, and Team Foundation Server (TFS).
- Knowledge in various branching/merging methodologies and release procedures.
- Experience with continuous integration build engines, such as Jenkins, Cruise Control, etc.
- Experience with IT automation tools such as Ansible, Puppet, Chef, etc.
- Experience with container technology such as Docker, and CoreOS RKT (Rocket)
- Exposure to Agile development processes and tools such as Confluence, JIRA, and Kanban.
- Nice to have Development experience with Python, C, Java,
- Scripting experience (Python, Perl, Bash, batch, etc.) and familiarity with Windows, Linux (RHEL preferred) and Unix.
- Experience in release engineering, configuration management, software development or related discipline.
Education Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science/Computer Engineering (based on a BS or MS in CS, or equivalent experience)
