The Company

Our client focuses on pioneering genetic suppressor targets for drug discovery and development. They employ Single Cell RNA sequencing, a proprietary platform technology to discover and pursue genetic suppressors. The company has started several preclinical drug discovery programs for some of its novel targets harnessing cancer and rare diseases.

Role Description

In this role you are responsible for several projects. This involves primarily early stage target discovery. You will manage, set and plan timelines and budget, define milestones and deliverables to monitor project progression. You will bring deep biological and technical knowledge and expertise, but also initiate new projects. Furthermore, you will motivate and guide a small team of Research Associates and Scientists.

Responsibilities

- Independently plan and execute a research project
- Perform wet lab experiments
- Dive in literature to gain more knowledge and expertise in disease-related processes
- Generate regular reports on project progress
- Assay development
- Work independently, without day-to-day supervision
- Identify novel disease/indication opportunities

Requirements

- PhD in relevant subject
- Minimum 3 years post PhD experience
- Extensive expertise in one or several of the following areas: immunology, biochemistry, small molecule screening, biochemical assay development
- Track record of success in research illustrated by (high impact) publications
- Experience in small molecule or antibody development
