Senior Project Manager

Location: Krakow
PROJECT DESCRIPTION

MAIN JOB PURPOSE

  • Manages project(s) by performing related duties.
  • Serves customers by planning and implementing business strategies and operations; improving systems and processes; managing staff (team or teams 30+ people); liaise with Client, all levels management and HR.
  • Determines business operational strategies by managing team or teams, establishing customer-service standards.
  • Accomplishes human resource objectives, meets financial objectives by estimating requirements; preparing an annual budget; scheduling expenditures; analyzing variances; initiating corrective actions.
  • Prepares performance reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing data and trends.
  • Accomplishes organization goals by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests; exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments.

RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Leadership, people management for teams of 30+
  • Responsible for budget planning and execution
  • Liaises with cross -location teams
  • Assists Division Director/Site Manager in business development activities
  • Manage a group of teams, Project Managers, Team Leaders
  • Is central point of contact for Client's management
  • Responsible for delivery, financial and organizational aspects within division
  • Responsible for building and maintaining good relationships with Client
  • Understands Client's roadmap and drive execution of it (when applicable)
  • Control quality and performance of teams (when applicable)
  • Review and optimize team structure
  • Start up new teams/projects
  • Performstaff risk management for direct subordinates
  • Liaise with customer satisfaction
  • Provide reporting to Client and senior management
  • Drive implementation of key delivery processes across teams
  • Ensuring sharing of best practices/business domain knowledge/exploiting synergies between teams
  • Accountable for solving infrastructure issues, other inefficiencies in the environment
  • Accountable for hiring, rotation, firing
  • Encourage teams and drive for continuous improvements
  • Accountable for team related financial decisions (salary increases, bonuses etc.)
  • Supporting location/site as part of Luxoft management team
  • Suggests improvements, innovations to ensure better services to Client
  • If necessary functional management for project
  • Performs all necessary actions on supervisor’s reference
  • Other responsibilities related with employees specialization & competencies delegated by Manager

SKILLS

MUST
  • 8 years’ experience in management of software development/support teams
  • Experience in directly managing large development teams, in an outsourcing/off-shoring setup
  • Experience in building and development of teams
  • Understanding of Agile values and principles/support processes
  • Experience in people management (hiring, appraisals, promotions, motivation, development etc.)
  • Excellent understanding of SDLC (ITIL would be an advantage)
  • Advanced English (read, written and spoken)
  • Very technical and technologically savvy
  • Strong leader capable of motivating people, as well as gaining their respect
  • Proven management by leaders/managers experience
  • Able to influence team retention by building long term engagement in the company of his/her reports
  • Client relationship management experience or pre-sales/engagement experience is a must
  • Business transition/transformation experience would be an asset
  • Long term resource planning
  • Good knowledge of financial and contractual side of projects
  • Management of cross -location teams experience highly desirable
  • Management via managers/team leads is a must
  • Ability to drive organizations, highly motivated, enthusiastic
  • Openness for changes
  • Willingness to take ownership for departmental improvements
  • Experience in budget planning and execution of his/her department
  • Business development experience

  • Knowledge of Client's domain is highly desirable
  • PhD or MBA is an asset
