Senior/GL Accountant - new SSC (m/f)
Our Client is Nordics, family owned manufacturing company with strong focus on responsibility, eco-friendly approaching with an international exposure. The company decided to set-up new investment and Shared Service Center in Wroclaw which is an integral part of parent business and support wide scope of operations.

A unique opportunity for Senior or/and General Ledger Accountant to join a growing Shared Services Center and play a critical role in the organization and being responsible for developing and implementing accounting processes.
Description
Responsible for General Ledger accounting, transaction and monthly closing tasks for defined legal entities, including activities such as:
- Daily GL transactions and interface monitoring
- Payroll accounting in GL (based on data from payroll / external service provider)
- Sub ledger reconciliations with GL, Intercompany reconciliations
- Period end closing tasks (e.g. accruals) and coordination of closing activities
- Asset accounting
- Ensuring accuracy of company financial accounts, in accordance with IFRS and local GAAP
- Checking and validation of customer bonuses, creating credit notes
- Validate annual financial statements and tax filings prepared by external service provider, calculate and prepare VAT filings
- Responsible for account follow-up for all assigned accounts, reporting inconsistencies and correcting / monitoring errors
- Supporting internal customers in GL related questions and acting as single point of contact
- Support AP process in invoice and travel & expense claims processing during the month
- Process issue resolution in co-operation with internal customers and other counterparts
- Manages internal controls within own process area according to group policies / guidelines
- Recognize and communicate development opportunities in process
- Participating in process development and development projects as needed
- Act as a deputy for country X GL accountant, support AP-TE process for the same countries
- Undertake all other work as requested related to responsibility area
Profile
- University / Bachelor's degree in accounting / economics or equivalent credentials
- Fluency in English and good knowledge of German or Scandinavian languages (Swedish, Norwegian, Danish)
- Minimum of 3 years of experience general ledger accounting, preparing monthly and year end accounts, including financial statements, preferably including more than 1 of the key accounting processes such as GL, AR or AP, in an international SSC environment
- Good understanding of financial accounting and IFRS standards,
- Analytical thinking
- Knowledge of ERP, Excel
