Working as Network Security Engineer you will:
- Implement and manage the policies, procedures, and systems required to achieve security and networking objectives
- Participate in team meetings ensuring you understand the latest deliverables and challenges within the infrastructure organization
- Optimize current configurations and procedures by providing insights and improvements where you deem feasible
- Keep a high level oversight and provide traffic flow drawings where applicable, ensuring a traffic flow will pass through several segments, environments and even companies unobstructed
- Adhere to the current firewall change processes and provide feedback on adjustments and optimizations within an organization in transition
- Align with the security department for approval, 3rd parties for execution of remote rulesets and change requesters
- Be customer focused and ensure you understand the ask of the requester before commencing implementation
- Align with engineers and architects of other disciplines to ensure fitting, manageable and scalable technical solutions are implemented
- Consolidate rulesets in order to optimize the environment without adding security risk
- Flag and proactively clean-up the firewall environment by disabling unused rulesets and removing obsolete objects
- Be available out of business hours for scheduled implementations which require down time
An ideal candidate:
- At least 2 years of enterprise level networking and security engineering knowledge, with hands-on experience or the confidence to swiftly master on both GUI and CLI level:
- Checkpoint R77.20 and R77.30: VSS VSX Multiple domains URL-filtering
- Fortinet 4.3 and 5.2: Fortimanager FortiAnalyzer UTM features
- VPN technologies on: Fortinet, CISCO ASA, Anyconnect, IPSec
- Network analysis toolsets including or similar to: Orion, NPM, NCM, Infoblox
- Customer focused both in communication and behavior
- Experience managing service providers and other vendors
- Must be clear, comprehensive, and concise working with the team through firefighting drills
- Technical writing and thorough documentation skills; VISIO
- ITIL (Change, Incident and Problem Management) Processes
- Security risk assessment methodologies
- Packet capture analysis
- MSHA (L3) Datacenter design and implementation
- Network/Security design, root cause analysis and industry best practices
- Checkpoint, Fortinet and Cisco CLI debug level traffic analysis
- Large application migration projects, preferably related to ERP and WMS systems
- Supporting corporate systems in an enterprise environment
- Working in cascaded project teams in a fast paced environment
- English – Operational proficiency
