The Candidate will report to the Managing Director and to the VP Sales & Marketing.

He / She will manage the sales, application department and sell equipment to industries such as on-road heavy truck, off-road vehicles, automotive and industrial vehicles.

Client Details

For our client, the leading global automotive supplier, we are looking for a Sales and Application Engineering Manager to strengthen the organization and contribute to the expansion in the European market.

Description

  • Manages and drives sales performance versus a planned budget. Balances customer needs with Company business objectives.
  • Manages the customer relationship at all levels and functions within the customer organization.
  • Submits periodic reports, such as customer reports, monthly reports, budgets, forecasts and expense reports in a timely manner.
  • Travels to call on current and prospective customers to drive current and future business results. Actively manages a target account list.
  • Maintain strong market and applications understanding. Prospects for new business by studying markets and customer needs.
  • Understands customer end-use markets as well as the technical details relative to the use of Company products in their applications. Provides technical support to customer on both product and application situations.
  • Prepares documents such as price quotes, test plans, and program management obligations within the business guidelines and the Sales Department.
  • Investigates and resolves customer complaints on a timely basis, and within stated policies and procedures.
  • Attends relevant tradeshows in support of sales and marketing initiatives.

Profile

  • Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline (Engineering or similar)
  • Experience in managing people and being part of the company management team
  • Minimum of five years' sales and or engineering experience with a proven track record in product engineering and/or technical product support.
  • Ability to effectively develop, cultivate and sustain customer relationships on a multi-level and multi-functional basis.
  • Experience selling and servicing equipment related industries such as on-road heavy truck, off-road vehicles, automotive and industrial vehicles.
  • Self-starter, motivated and able to manage a territory with minimal direction.
  • Must reflect professional "presence," and be a good listener with strong verbal and written communications skills.
  • A strong orientation to gaining in-depth knowledge of the customer with a commitment to customer service at all times.
  • Able to interact with customer technical and sales organizations to drive Company developmental activities, support value added selling efforts and drive new product development efforts.
  • Capable of conducting hands on selling efforts at the operational level including product development, field testing, plant reviews and quality.
  • Must exhibit an aggressive approach to selling on a value-added basis utilizing detailed knowledge of Company products and applications.
  • Position requires overnight travel ranging between 25-50% depending on customer requirements
  • Fluent Polish and English, German would be a plus.
