Your new company

Our client is one of the largest design and consulting american company in the world, operating in over 150 countries.
A new SSC, in the heart of Bucharest (Romana Square) were key finance functions will be migrated from America and Europe.

Your new role

- Primary point of contact for external accountants, statutory auditors and external tax consultants;
- Ensure local statutory accounts and tax returns are prepared for all entities;
- Ensure internal controls are reviewed and discussed regularly;
- Lead the Finance stream of the rationalisation of legal entities;
- Lead potential recapitalisations for entities where negative equity arises;
- Rationalise the number of bank accounts held in country;
- Ensure regular reconciliations take place between Oracle and the local accounting system;
- Ensure Balance Sheet reconciliations are performed on a timely manner and to an adequate standard;
- Ensure bank mandates / credit cards ownership are up to date at any given point;
- Ensure intercompany balances, allocations and loans are cleared on a timely basis;
- Engage with external accountants as the finance team exits the business and ensure there is a swift hand over of finance activities;
- Ensure a fixed asset registered is maintained and there are enough controls to safeguard those assets;
- Keep an up to date schedule of bonds and guarantees by country;
- Keep an up to date leases commitment schedule;
- Ensure OPIEs are closed as companies are closed down;
- Support any Finance testing of upgrades to Oracle or any other system roll-outs.

What you'll need to succeed

- Degree educated or equivalent in Accounting or similar;
- Ideally qualified ACA, ACCA, CPA or similar;
- Excellent written and spoken English is essential;
- Stakeholder management skills and presence;
- Ability to efficiently navigate financial systems;
- Strong analytical skills and ability to draw conclusions;
- International travel might be required (30%);
- 5-7 year experience as Financial Controller, preferably in a multinational.
