Duties and responsibilities
Prepare planning of the construction phase of specific projects or project areas based on the basic engineering (design drawings), specifications, delivery time, work and action list, etc., including studying the information and participate in meetings with regards to special requirements with client, sales dept. design & proposal engineer. Also prepare contracts with shipyards.

Co-coordinating and supervising the construction process. On regular base visit construction site. Monitoring the planning, progress, quality and budget.

Also coordinate the commissioning, trial and delivery of the ship to the customer together with the classification society and our co-manufacturers and suppliers;

Develop areas of improvement, within specified guidelines and frameworks, processes and products to design and detail, with regard to construction and procurement process, reducing failure costs and improving quality.

Co-direction to the project team, and take measures to assure the proper command execution.

Profile / requirements
BSc Naval Architecture, Mechanical Engineering
Fluent Dutch and English verbal and written; For knowledge migrants: willingness to learn the Dutch language

Minimum 2-3 years relevant work experience in a similar role
Knowledge of project management

Good communication skills

Work with deadlines, set priorities, keeping an overall view on the project

Organizational skills, quality conscious, flexible and customizable

Tugs are built at their own shipyards in the Netherlands, Romania, Vietnam, China, Middle East, Central America and South Africa. With a market share of 25% they are global leader in port and terminal tugs. Continuously their Tug series are improved and new types are developed.

 The Tugs and Workboats consists of two departments: Department of Design and Proposal (D & P) and Project Management. The D & P department handles all requests from the sales department and provides support during the sales process. After the contract is effective the Design & Proposal Engineer hands over the project to the Project Management Department and the project will be assigned to a Project Manager who will be responsible for that project.
