Within the department Product Management Team (PMT) of the European headquarters in Almelo we have a vacancy for a Process Engineer.
Job Mission
The Process Engineer is responsible for development of the production processes and for the overall operational management of the business.
Job Description:
• Develop new production processes and/or adapt existing production processes for the assembly, calibration and testing of automotive sensors.
• Define specifications for production equipment and interact with equipment suppliers to ensure equipment will meet specifications.
• Optimize and help solving problems in existing production processes.
• Participate in global New Product Development (NPD) project teams to enable successful launch of new products.
• Initiate improvement plans for efficiency, capacity, costs, lead time and quality of production.
• Keep in contact with other departments on process. specifications, quality aspects, product specifications and continuity of equipment.
• Analyze products and implement changes to improve the products and the processes.
Requirements
Educational Level/ Experience:
• Technical expertise to assess sensor product design on manufacturability.
• Good understanding principles of Design for Assembly and 6 Sigma tools.
• Good understanding of basic assembly techniques (welding, wire bonding, dispensing, etc.).
• Basic understanding of (automotive) quality systems and control.
• Financial acumen to set up cost estimates and analyses.
• Good communication skills, written and verbally in English and preferably German language.
• Good social skills to initiate and drive activities in various production sites in other countries.
• Able to effectively interact with customers.
• Pro-active attitude and clearly capable of setting priorities.
• Project management skills to lead and participate multidisciplinary, global teams
• Knowledge of MS-Office software (Word, Windows, Excel and Outlook).
• Prepared to travel and work abroad on a regular basis.
