We are searching for suitable candidates for the position of Process and Tooling Engineer for our Client’s new investment located in Lower Silesia, Poland.
XEOS is the engine overhaul joint venture between Lufthansa Technik and GE Aviation. From 2018, it will start operations as state-of-the art engine service centre in the Legnica Special Economic Zone in Środa Śląska, Poland. At start of operations, XEOS will mainly service GEnx-2B engines, which currently power the new Boeing 747-8 aircrafts (“jumbo jets”). By 2021, the centre will be capable of servicing the new GE9X engines – the world’s most technologically advanced aircraft engine in its class.
As a Process and Tooling Engineer you should psupport the shop with overhaul and machining processes and be responsible for maintenance and calibration requirements for tooling. Your essential responsibilities will include introduction and update of machining and overhaul equipment process data, including update of relevant job cards and instructions, introduction and maintenance of equipment software, introduction, distribution and update of drawings for equipment and tooling, introduction, distribution and update of tracking data for equipment and tooling maintenance and calibration requirements. You will aslo implement regulatory requirements (AD’s, laws, etc.), as well as OEM requirements in tooling and equipment processes on the basis of approved data and Implement recommendations from OEM’s and Design Organizations (e.g. SB, EB, SIL). You will also provide technical information internally and be responsible for machining processes and tooling.
To be successful in this role you should possess profound knowledge of machining process, test and examination processes incl. knowledge of error detection processes and knowledge of relevant aircraft engines. You should be familiar with relevant materials such as processing materials and consumables and several years of experience in operating or planning of work on CNC machines. Our Client expects you to hold master’s degree in aviation technology, mechanical engineering, electrical engineering or equivalent in related discipline. Other educational backgrounds may also be suitable if accompanied with highly relevant work experience. We expect you to have several years of experience in planning of maintenance or production of aviation products. Very good English language knowledge is a must, Polish and/or German would be beneficial. You should have well developed leadership skills, ability to manage complex problems, demonstrated verbal and written communication skills. You should be able to work under pressure and be able to take quick decisions.
