Our client is a professional Agriculture organization, based in Denmark.
This country is the leading company in Northern Europe in the field of breeding, producing and selling quality ware and seed potatoes. Their large network of partners and daughter companies give their clients large advantages in the form of flexiblity, a high level of service and great know-how about the individual potato varieties and which markets they work on.
ROLE DESCRIPTION
As Potato Breeder, you work together with your colleague who does the pre-breeding, then take the commercial part. Travel is an integral part of this, and for about 30 days a year, you'll travel from the plants in Morocco and Sweden to Israel and France to check the trial growths. Of course harvest season is a wild time, but you're a real team player and get energy from learning and visiting congresses. There's a good team at the Danish breeding station and lines to management are short, meaning you can be influential in your work!
RESPONSIBILITIES
This role has three pillars of breeding, travel and cooperation.
- innovation, breeding of ware and seed potatoes
- travel to test sites internationally
- facilitating cooperation between breeding plants
- willingness to grow into a managerial role is possible, not required
REQUIREMENTS
- MSc in Plant Genetics or similar
- Fluent English, willingness to learn Danish
- Willingness to relocate to Denmark
- Experience with potato plants (5+ years preferred)
- Down-to-earth, communicative personality
