We are looking to recruit 2 outstanding postdoctoral research fellows to join the group of Professor Marcin Majka at the Jagiellonian University Medical College. Successful candidates will be involved in cutting age research funded by the National Science Centre aimed at dissecting the mechanism and possibilities of central nervous system regeneration using mesenchymal stem cells and immunomodulation. Candidates will determine the profile of proteins secreted by stem cells, which may have a neuroprotective and stimulatory effect and will assess the effectiveness of stem cells and immunomodulation in inhibiting neurodegeneration and stimulating regenerative processes. The results obtained will allow the development of new treatment methods for patients with central nervous system damage based on cell therapies.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
· use of molecular and cell cultures methods including CRISPR / Cas9 technology, iPS and organotypic brain cultures work
· conducting in vivo experiments using stereotactic surgeries, EEG monitoring, behavioral and motor tests
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:
The positions are fully funded and salary is provided for a 2-year period. Benefits include health coverage for the candidate and his/her family, summer and winter holiday benefits for children. The positions will start in the autumn of 2020, though some flexibility with the start date might be possible.

REQUIREMENTS:
· PhD in biology, biotechnology or related fields, and maximum of 4 years documented experience (publications).
· experience in molecular biology research and/or experience in animal model studies is required,
· very good command of English,
· strong motivation for scientific work,
· ability to conduct research independently in interdisciplinary team
