Our client is a professional Food organization, based in Antwerpen Belgium.

Young, eager to learn and grow, competitive, entrepreneurial and international. This describes the client as well as the candidates they're looking for! This is a great R&D position for an ambitious professional with commercial insight.

ROLE DESCRIPTION

Your mission is to support the development of the client in patisserie mixes through the implementation of innovation and renovation projects on your product specialty. Your task is to be the expert on the product category in terms of formulation, recipe, process, equipment and run your own applied research projects based on market’s request. Always learning, you share the new know-how in a matrix culture, also supporting other countries 40% of your time. Finally, you support business development through follow up of the designated Large Account: do a yearly visit; ensure technical support is given; review the account plan; follow up main projects, attend account review. Last but not least, you help build strong R&D teams.

RESPONSIBILITIES

The distribution of tasks is as follows:
- 40% is support to international colleagues, providing product development support, optimising product ranges, facilitating the implementation of the BU strategy, and for this you travel to international locations (around on third of the time, you're on the way)
- 30% is applied R&D, in which you are a patisserie specialist
- 20% is supporting business development
- 10% is coordinating R&D training programmes to help you colleagues grow, organising seminars

REQUIREMENTS

- Academic degree in Bio-engineering or similar
- Fluent English
- Willing to live in the area of Brussels and travel 30% internationally
- Good communication, presentation skills
- Commercial feeling, multi-tasker, teamplayer
- You balance R&D and commerce to keep the patisserie mixes excellent and profitable
