Middleware Specialist - Application Hosting Serv. (2nd level support)

Job description

At this moment we are looking for Middleware resources to our team to support our customers.

As an IT Specialist you will support and troubleshooting creating solutions, implementation and systems integration. The IT Specialist is proficient in a specialty and is capable of working with requirements, design, implementation and production projects and engagements. This includes working as a team member with client personnel to identify functional requirements and subsequently working with or in some instances leading others in the identification, justification and design of the client's solution.

The IT Specialist delivers high quality solutions to clients in response to varying business requirements. He utilizes product, technology, industry and business skills. The IT Specialist often uses tools to manage, analyze, design and implement. The IT Specialist has an in-depth understanding of products, offerings and services within their specialty.

Typical activities

• Install the server operating system, system management software and operating system utilities
• Support the server operating system, system management software and operating system utilities, including upgrades
• Manage the operating system configuration
• Manage file systems and print queues
• Monitor and maintain operating system log files
• Recommend operating system updates and configuration modification
• Apply operating system patches as required
• Maintain tools for remote management and alert monitoring
• Maintain the hardware and software configuration server information
• Manage System ID’s and domain structure
• Evaluate planned changes to the server environment and advise of any requirements to support such changes
• Provide system health check and trending reports (e.g. CPU, RAM, HDD)

Technical experience with at least one of the following product groups:

• Ability to design, develop, build, test and implement Middlware products such as IBM WebSphere Application, Portal Server and MQ on Unix and Windows platforms
• Familiar with WebSphere Family Products: WebSphere Application and Portal Server, MQ, WCC, IIS, etc
• Apache: http server, Tomcat.
• BEA Weblogix, Jboss.
• Microsoft IIS and MS SharePoint

• Master's Degree
• At least 1 year experience in UNIX
