We are currently looking for a Mechanical Design Engineer to be a part of our design team for Distribution Transformers. This role will be based in Lodz, Poland. We are looking for experienced engineers with preferably 5 years+ experience in transformer design.
Tasks:
• Plan, conduct, and coordinate various engineering development activities;
• Prepare reports and related documents in accordance with internal and external requirements;
• Develop and maintain transformer mechanical design manual, standard BoM structure and drawing standards;
• Lead and participate in customer specification reviews and design reviews to ensure the proposed designs meet industry standards;
• Work closely with the Senior Design Engineers and implement design development rules in ABB software;
• Provide timely mechanical engineering support to Engineering dept. (& other depts. as required) for day to day operation;
• Support in root cause and corrective action for errors in the design system;
• Take personal responsibility for your safety and the safety of your internal customers by continuously and proactively correcting unsafe conditions/behaviors.

Requirements:
• Higher University degree in Mechanical Engineering (eg. MSME) or oriented discipline;
• 5+ years of professional experience working with transformers preferably, or in another design related environment;
• Experience of working in a transformer design environment will be considered as an advantage;
• Strong proficiency working with Creo CAD tools;
• Recent experience with performing 3D modeling, 2D mechanical designs, sheet metal modeling, mechanical calculations, FEA, stress analysis, thermal analysis, etc.;
• Working knowledge of programming concepts and willingness to work with logic based systems. Proficiency with Visual basic and / or SQL is a plus;
• Strong English language skills is a requirement;
• Strong aptitude for using basic computer applications (e.g. MS-Office);
• Ability to travel internationally;
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
