Mechanic of heavy vehicle

DUTIES:

·       Operates, repairs, and maintains heavy power construction equipment such as compressors, pumps, hoists, shovels, trucks, tractors, graders, bulldozers, front-end loaders, scrapers, motor graders, skid steers and associated equipment, and fire trucks.

·       Perform heavy equipment maintenance activities including installation, repair, troubleshooting, diagnostics, and preventive maintenance.

·       Responsible for operating equipment to maintain roadways and firebreaks by excavating, moving, and grading earth.

·       Disassemble and reassemble engines and mechanical units to inspect and diagnose parts using computerized test equipment, calibration devices, gauges, etc.

·       Repair and overhaul mobile mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic equipment.

·       Repair air conditioning systems.

·       Calibrate load monitoring indicators to ensure safe and reliable lifts.

·       Rebuild hydraulic cylinders, valves, planetary drive units, suspensions, springs, bushings, and kingpins.

·       Replace seals and bearings, axel brakes, and crane rigging.

·       Rebuild hydraulic cylinders, valves, planetary drive units, suspensions, springs, bushings, and kingpins.

REQUIREMENTS:

·       Minimum of 2 years of experience in operating and maintaining heavy equipment.

·       Licensed or trained to operate applicable items of heavy equipment.

·       Prefer motor vehicle air conditioning certification and experience.

·       Specialized knowledge and skills in diesel and heavy automotive repair and maintenance.

·       Skilled in replacing major components and parts on engineering and construction equipment.

·       Practical understanding of theory of hydraulics (Pascal Theory), pulley, and gear ratio.

·       Ability to read and understand schematics, blueprints, and technical drawings.

·       Knowledge of diagnostics and ability to conduct technical research on the computer.

·       Completed training in Vehicle Maintenance or related field from military technical school or an accredited technical school/college/university.

·       Minimum communicative knowledge of English: speaking, reading and writing.

·       Must be a EU resident and authorized to work in Germany.
