In this new established position our office in Gdansk, you will be part of driving a team that will bring logistics services in Maersk Drilling to a higher maturity level. Your main responsibility will be to manage the logistics team in Gdansk and develop the team as well as actively participate in the long term visions for Global Logistics. You will be responsible for the tasks performed by the team is compliant and live up to the expectations of the stakeholders, additionally follow up on freight forwarders general performance via KPI analysis.

You be part of the Global Logistics team, and the primary responsibility of the role is to manage the team, ensuring timely execution of shipments and optimise the current set-up. As part of your role you will be:
- Manage the team, taken the lead of prioritising and plan execution when needed.
- Develop the team´s capabilities to become an even stronger logistics support in the organisation.
- Ensure clear communication and information on status, track and trace of shipments to stakeholders.
- Engage proactively with stakeholders ensuring a supportive and efficient operation
- Proactively engage with the Global Logistics team to develop the function globally.
- Follow up on monthly KPI reporting
- To meet set objectives and KPIs for the team and individually
- Propose and initiate costs savings and process optimizations
- Participate and/or lead projects, cross functional and within Logistics
- Provide and offer input in relevant areas of expertise
- Drive improvements and constant care of Maersk Drilling Global Logistics
- Mitigate potential risk for failure in the logistics operation
- Corporate closely with direct Management
- Conduct supplier relationship management and monitor contractual performance
What you'll need to succeed

- Minimum 5 year experience with International Logistics (e.g. Shipping or Freight Forwarding, 3PL)experience in managing, leading and developing a small team
- Minimum 1-2 years management experience
- Experience in performing logistics service globally
- Experience in negotiating rates
- Preferable experience with project shipments (OOG)
- A strong ability to optimize execution and updating in ERP systems
- Strong knowledge with supply chain mechanism
- Solution oriented and service minded
- Proficient in both spoken and written English
