Within this company medication is labelled, assembled, stored and eventually shipped to various countries worldwide. They receive the products as semi-manufactured goods which are then packed country-specific, stored and shipped. Over 600 people work in the Netherlands on the company's supply chain processes, engineering, marketing and sales of the medicines and clinical research into new medication.

Role Description

The European Supply Chain organization plays a key role in the company's mission to supply all the patients on time and every time. You will be accountable for the cost effective European distribution strategy and apply continuous improvement principles while designing, implementing and sustaining distribution solutions.

Operating in a cross-functional environment being the liaison between multiple disciplines within the company and third parties. Executing a strong focus on country centricity, GDP, Trade Compliance and Cold Chain Management.

Responsibilities

- Ensure supply leveraging the service level agreements
- Adhere to a cost effective European distribution strategy
- Execute with a strong focus on country centricity, GDP and Trade compliance, Cold Chain Management and timely and correct transportation of shipments
- Establishing and Maintaining an internal and external network enabling EU Supply Chain to advance on priorities and key initiatives
- Document and maintain procedures for effective transportation of products from source to customer
- Apply Continuous improvement principles while designing, implementing and sustaining distribution solutions
- Showcase a continuous improvement mindset to identify savings and other efficiency opportunities driving results to the finish line while improving quality, performance and GDP compliance
- Set-up and approve new supply chain partners as per global supplier management procedures

Requirements

- Masters' degree or equivalent related to Supply Chain/Logistics, Change Management or Industrial Engineering
- 5 or more years' of experience in the logistics industry in a supplier management position
- Supply Chain, Cold Chain and Warehousing expertise
- Strong background in project management across departments and geographies
- Experience managing suppliers and improving processes
- Fluent in English, verbal and written communication
- Strong analytical skills including MS Excel and the ability to distill insights

Preferred Requirements
- GMP and GDP knowledge
- Knowledge of Operational Excellence tools, Six Sigma and FMEA
- Experienced with SAP and BW
- Background in setting up service level agreements
- Good technical writing skills
