Java Software Developer
Location: WroclawYou will be working in the financial instrument area within one of the Europe leading banks. Our team is responsible for acquiring data about financial instruments from international data providers like Refinitv (former Reuters), Bloomberg, Six Telekurs and many others but also developing the tools to maintain, view and query the data for our customers. We are the golden source for this data within bank and provide the data to more than 200 other applications.
You will be working in an international environment: The project team members are located in Wroclaw, Switzerland and India. The development team consists of 9 developers (6 in Zurich, 3 in Wroclaw) and the project team consists of about 15 people. The main communication will be among the developers, but also coordination with testing team (India) and business (Wroclaw and Zurich) will be necessary.
RESPONSIBILITIES
You will be responsible for a business critical applications about Financial Instrument Classification:
- The application includes an UI and background processing written in Java and interacts with a business rule engine (JRules) and an Oracle Database
- Interact directly with business, to catch their requirements, document it, do the effort estimation, produce the necessary documents and implement it
- Be responsible for technically delivering the module from inception until it goes to live and further supporting it in the production environment.
- Additionally, the role will be responsible for a web application, where users can produce reports about financial instruments
- This application is also written in Java and communicates with the database through SQL
SKILLS
MUST
- Proven Java experience JDK 1.8 and it's concepts/patterns (at least 4 years in different projects)
- Good knowledge of SQL (Oracle)
- Experience with Spring/EJB and/or JPA
NICE TO HAVE
*Experience with multithreading programing, transaction handling, performance tuningF* Rule engine experience (could be anything like JRules, Drools, CLIPS, Prolog)* Linux and scripting languages (shell, Perl, Python)* Experience with GIT and maven
