Your new role
The IT Service Continuity Management Specialist (ITSCM) ensures that the company can recover IT Systems to agreed SLA’s by mitigating the risk of crisis/disaster events to an acceptable level through planning and testing of IT service recovery. The position's primary goals will be to Identify, document and test business needs against the Company infrastructure and identify recovery strategies and gaps as well as meet compliance requirements for ITSCM planning. The IT Service Continuity Specialist will report to the IT Service Continuity Process Owner and own the IT Service Continuity Management (ITSCM) function within company’s IT Operational Processes & Improvements (YIOPC).

Your new role

The IT Service Continuity Specialist will report to the IT Service Continuity Process Owner and own the IT Service Continuity Management (ITSCM) function within company’s IT Operational Processes & Improvements (YIOPC).
Responsibilities:
- Develop, own and maintain the IT Service Continuity Management (ITSCM) Process, strategy, plans and corresponding documentation
- Identify & prosecute opportunities for improvement to efficiency & effectiveness of the Service
- Ensure availability and readiness of recovery plans - provide a means to cyclically audit such plans
- Communicate, collaborate and maintain relationships effectively with all stakeholders from VIT organization, Business and suppliers.
- Ensures that external service providers and suppliers provide minimum agreed service levels in cases of disaster, by reducing the risk to an acceptable level and planning for the recovery of services.
What you'll need to succeed
You need to have:
- Experience of working within a Business Continuity policy and program
- Production of performance reports to stakeholders and the customer
- Experience with both conducting and contributing to internal / external audits as Business Continuity SME.
- Exceptional interpersonal, stakeholder engagement and influencing skills
Competences required:
- Able to evaluate information, identify key issues and formulate conclusions based on practical judgment, experience and common sense
- Produce regular reports, and chair relevant meetings with stakeholders.
- Good technology awareness in Networks, Security, Storage, Compute, backup and restore technologies, VMware SRM, Database replication and recovery, Mainframe, cloud technologies.
- Professional knowledge of one of ITIL, Prince2, BCI or DRII would be beneficial
- Team Player
- Strong business awareness and focused on customer service
- Results and delivery focused
- Possess a recognized Business Continuity qualification
- Project Management skills
- Experience of working with Business Continuity software
- Knowledge of ISO 22301 and 22313 would be beneficial
