Our client is a professional Agriculture organization, based in Zuid-Holland Netherlands.
This client is the market-leader in the breeding of grass types. Because of their positive growth and internal promotion, they're looking for a new addition to their team. This is the chance to make the step from assistant breeder to breeder!
ROLE DESCRIPTION
The breeder network of this client spans from the UK, France, Spain and Denmark to the Netherlands. In this position, you're the Dutch breeder responsible for the forage breeds and their quality in the Netherlands. As a result, you have to be able to work with your team of technicians patiently, sticking to deadlines while sharing knowledge on the international level. Theoretical and - most importantly - practical knowledge of breeding is a must! You're willing to sit on the tractor yourself if need be, as long as the job gets done!
RESPONSIBILITIES
• You set up and participate in projects aiming at improving the efficiency of the breeding process
• You are responsible for the creation of new competitive Perennial ryegrass varieties for the forage segment in Europe.
• You set up and execute a long term breeding program
• You take part in meetings with colleagues both domestic and abroad as well as external relations, regarding all matters of your profession
REQUIREMENTS
• MSc Plant Breeding
• Practical breeding experience, either as breeder or technician
• Proactive attitude, willingness to learn
• Hands-on mentality. This is literal!
• Fluent English, Dutch a strong plus
