Financial Controller

We are looking for a Senior Financial Controller to take charge of controlling activities and represent the finance function within the company. It is a newly created role in the organisation. The ideal candidate will play a pivotal role in ensuring the accuracy and efficiency of our financial processes, contributing to strategic decision-making through insightful analysis.

Description

• Execute monthly, quarterly, and year-end tasks aligning with department and company goals.
• Input medium complexity journal entries into the accounting system for regional entities, meeting Group deadlines.
• Maintain and update financial reports for analysis during monthly closing cycles.
• Reconcile intercompany balances and address inconsistencies during monthly closings.
• Manage creation, modification, and closure of accounts in the accounting system as needed for billing and requests.
• Review and approve supplier invoices while overseeing Accounts Payable team reports.
• Oversee end-to-end billing processes to meet entity and Group deadlines.
• Prepare controls for upload into the Blackline system based on the work schedule.
• Support internal, FMC, and external audits by ensuring adherence to procedures and providing requested information.
• Report any deviations from standard processes to management and suggest improvements.
• Develop and update process manuals and engage in discussions with supervisors.
• Contribute to special projects and organizational initiatives such as migrations or system implementations.

Profile

• Bachelor/Master's degree in Finance, Accountancy, Business Administration, Economics, or in a similar field.
• Proven work experience in controlling, reporting, or external audit roles.
• Excellent English proficiency (B2-C1); knowledge of German is a strong plus.
• Solid understanding of accounting principles.
• Ability to interpret and analyze financial data accurately.
• Ability to interpret numerical data and facts, presenting them clearly.
• Excellent proficiency in MS Office, with a strong focus on Excel.
• Knowledge of SAP is a strong plus.
• Team player with a demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively.
• Highly developed interpersonal skills.
