For one of our clients in the Gent area in Belgium we are looking for a highly motivated DevOps Engineer to join a team of Bioinformatics and Software Experts. Our client is developing a range of innovative, cloud-based software products for analysis and interpretation of genetic data generated by its test kitsRole Description
As a member of the software development team located in Ghent, you will participate in the following activities:> Coordinate, implement and improve a platform for continuous build automation, automated testing and release management.
> Ensure cloud security in line with industry standards; both on a technical as well as procedural level.
> Develop, deploy, monitor, maintain and support a growing number of SaaS deployments.
> Perform day-to-day system administration and maintenance tasks.
> Research, recommend, develop, and deploy improvements in a proactive manner.
> Work closely with the development team to operationalize solutions.
> Participate in the software validation process.
Responsibilities
Bachelor or Master degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, System Administration, or similar.5+ years of relevant professional experience, preferentially working with cloud infrastructures/deployments. Familiarity with ISO 27001 is a plus.
Solid knowledge of the Linux OS (system administration level), virtualization, task automation and database management.
Requirements
Demonstrated Systems experienceo Linux (Ubuntu LTS server/Debian/RHEL)
o Rabbitmq, Celery, Nginx, uWSGI, logstash, elasticsearch
o Databases (Postgres)
o Redis, Couchbase and other NoSQL databases
o Containers (Docker, rkt)
Demonstrated Cloud Environment experience
o Amazon Web Services (EC2, VPC, EFS, S3), OpenStack or equivalent
o Experience with Continuous Integration and Delivery (Jenkins, Bamboo)
o An understanding of application deployment patterns and best practices
o Infrastructure and service monitoring and logging experience (Zabbix, Graphana, Splunk, AppDynamics, DataDog, new Relic…)
o Configuration management tools (Ansible, Salt…)
o Familiarity with micro services architecture
o Affinity with the python Django framework and POSIX
* Strong desire to streamline, optimize and automate workflows.
* Keen interest in learning more about medical device software development.
* Ability to write high quality technical documents in English.
* Team player with good communication skills.
* Pro-active problem-solving mentality and able to work autonomously.
